Alex opened his eyes to see he had stunned the man, and breathed a sigh of relief, not really caring that he was upside down. Teddy finally made his way to the Death Eater, and kicked him in the shoulder Alex had stabbed, which made the upside-down boy wince in sympathy pain, even though the man had tried to kill them.
Seriously. That shit had to hurt, no matter how many Cruciatus curses were fired your way. Teddy had enough sense to expel the man's wand from his hand this time, and Alex was glad this time. Teddy began to inform the man he was about to be interrogated, before turning to him.
As he was let down, Alex waved away the apology.
"Don't worry 'bout me, Ted. I like to hang around, ya know?" He stared at the semibrutal torture Ted was performing, not caring. After all, the man had tried to kill him. Ted had every right to be mean back.Right as soon as he was about to speak about the identity of the reincarnated Voldemort, the door burst open and Alex turned to face the intrusion with his wand, before dropping it.
Aurors.
And...
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS HARRY EFFIN POTTER.
Kinda brushed aside by the living legend, which Alex understood, as there was a connection between the two males, Alex couldn't help to let loose a sarcastic comment.
"We're just peachy. Nothing like fighting a friggen Death Eater and dodging Killing Curses. I feel great, don't you, Ted?"

teddy stood on the sidelines while the aurors hoisted the death eater up by his arms, causing the man to wince because of knife still stuck in his shoulder. he watched as harry removed it, muttering a simply spell so the wound closed. the aurors probably didn't want to be covered in the man's blood. that was a little disgusting. alex opened his mouth, and teddy couldn't help laughing a bit at his comment. "i feel great. so alive, nothing like fighting a waiter...opps, i mean ex-waiter, on a saturday morning. couldn't be better, my friend" he shot a sideways smile at the ravenclaw. he liked the guy, and after this, well, they had a fantastic story to tell. the kids at school would be all over the two of them for details. after all, it wasn't often that two students took on an former death eater in the three broomsticks. in fact, it had probably never happened.
the aurors carried the man out, who sent a look that could kill puppies towards teddy and alex. harry stayed, as did another auror that teddy didn't recognize. that was pretty odd, because harry had invited his auror coworkers quite a few times when teddy was there. the man had a stern look on his face, and was speaking into harry's ear, low enough that he couldn't hear what the man was saying. it sounded like he was telling harry not to go easy on them simply because he was his godson. toerag.
teddy took a few steps towards alex, standing next to him. for some reason, he was a bit intimidated by the aurors. "i'm sorry we took so long to respond." harry said, and teddy just nodded. had they done something wrong in defending themselves? "but it seems you too did a pretty good job defending yourselves." the other auror picked up the knife that was laying it on the floor, showing it to harry. his godfather ignored the man. "good job." the ex-boy-who-lived said, smiling at them. "we have to get back. i trust you will stay out of trouble for now on?" the last comment was sent to teddy. "yeah, yeah. i get it. i'm a handful." he replied, and watched as the two men apparated away. the second auror didn't seem too happy.
"jeez...that was scary." he said, glancing over at alex. "but we did it!" he grinned, and then practically tackled the guy next to him. "dude, we did it!" [/blockquote]

Alex, not used to sudden male to male embracing, tensed up as he was tackled. He awkwardly patted the other male on the back before ending the hug.
"Yeah. I guess we did. "
He was still in shock, to be honest, and had been since Teddy had been blinded. That whole incident was him fighting off instinct, trained instinct. All of his martial arts experience had meshed well with his magic, and he was pleasantly surprised that he had performed so well in a duel. He'd never been in a life or death situation before, and now that he had experienced it, he'd be better prepared for it.
Of course, there were a lot of implications from this.
For one, he'd get a lot more attention and people would expect more magical ability from him. Hogwarts had a tendency to embellish any story to a point that the people involved usually bored people with the real life accounts and were actually told to stop lying about it. No one had seen the duel, so naturally, it was probably already being talked about at the castle.
Secondly, Lord Voldemort was back. In a different body too, so even if someone could find a picture of Tom Riddle, it might not be even close to whoever Voldemort was now. If the Death Eaters were about to make a comeback, that meant he had to get ready. As much as he dreaded to think about it, this meant he'd likely have to focus less on potions and moreso on improving his magical abilities. The few curses, charms, jinxes and counterspells he knew were not going to be enough. He had a feeling that a lot of this fight going their way was because of superior numbers on their part and a lack of thinking on the Death Eater's part.
Alex sighed. He'd have to put in a lot of work to catch his spells up, and learn to cast them non-verbally at that.
Only he would be thinking this damn hard after a duel such as the one he had just been in.
Alex began to burst out laughing.
"Yeah, we kicked death waiter ass, didn't we?"
Turning around to leave the Pub and go back to Hogwarts, a thought had struck him. The last Auror had picked up his knife and...
"DAMMIT! THAT AUROR STOLE MY KNIFE!!!!!!!!"
It's sad that that effected him more than Voldemort. It really was.

teddy was just so glad that the fight was over. for awhile there, it had looked like they were going to lose. and when you were in a battle with a death eater, losing could be a fatal mistake. he and alex had come so close to dying today. it was a feeling he never wanted to experience again. it had felt like his stomach was invaded by insects, and every muscle in his body had been strained. but they had done it. somehow, the two of them had pulled off a win against the death eater. although if it hadn't been for alex, they would have both been dead when teddy got hit with the eye stinging spell, whatever spell that was. he had never heard of it before. "thanks, alex. you sort of saved both our lives"
teddy had a habit of not thinking about how the other person would feel if he invaded their personal space. he was used to tackling and hugging people at random times, because it was something he did often with his friends and family. not to mention, it had seemed like an appropriate time for something like that, since they had just survived a duel with a death eater.
he sure had bad luck. the one day he was in a super good mood and managed to pull a fantastic prank that amused an audience of strangers, the prankee turned out to be an insane death eater waiter. why had the man overreacted so much? after all, it had only been a prank. the man didn't have to throw such a tantrum to get fired, and then attack them for it. he wouldn't have lost his job if he had shook off the prank like a normal human being would have. it was his freak out that got him fired. and then he had shot unforgivables at them; for a job as a pub waiter. teddy would hate being a waiter, and probably would have thanked someone if they had gotten him out of it.
teddy grinned at alex's comment. "that we did. i wonder how he even got this job in the first place..." he followed him out of the pub, glad to get out of there. outside, were many of the people who had witnessed his show, and they cheered when the two of them exited. he gave a lame little bow, before beginning to walk back in the direction of hogwarts. today had just been a little bit too much attention. "hey, be glad that's all he did. i think he wanted to lecture you on carrying a knife, but harry stopped him." [/blockquote]

Alex shrugged off the thanks.
"Nah. I didn't do much. I was too reckless. I could have been killed, or gotten you killed with my stunts. I was mostly going by instinct. I'm no good at spells. I'm rather surprised they did that well. I'm just glad we're not dead or permanently disfigured."
How the man had been hired was indeed a great mystery he hoped the Aurors would find out, but after a few minutes, Alex had an idea.
"He's a Death Eater. They do shit like that. Probably blamed the Imperius curse for being a Death Eater, ya know, and got off clean.?"
As the pair walked out, Alex was surprised by a large crowd applauding them. He blushed in embarrassment and awkwardly waved his hand while Teddy bowed. He was too tired to really care.
They walked alone heading to the train stop, in their own little world it seemed. He ignored the cheers. They weren't that big a deal. The teen saw no need for being cheered on for a fight that was more luck on their part than skill.
"But but but but but... it was my favorite knife..." Alex said, pouting.
He took in a deep breath and let out a long, long sigh. As he inhaled, he couldn't take it anymore. The normally reserved bookworm let out a chuckle.
Then it turned into full blown, doubled over laughter.
"Dude loved his job, didn't he?"
Alex smiled at his new...friend. Teddy was odd, but there was no way two people could go through an ordeal like that and not bond. The Ravenclaw shrugged. This making friends things wasn't so bad at all.
