It was amazing that Jayson was in the library for the second time this week, this was the most he’s been there since his first year. It was insanely boring, but it was quiet, and he was finding it helped him to keep his focus when trying to do his classwork. Normally he would just bull his way through it all, but with so many recent distractions this year, he found himself drawing blanks in every subject. It was terrible, he was a decently intelligent guy, but his plate was just too full and he found himself completely stressed out. Not to mention he couldn’t talk to anyone about it because he was terrible at discussing his feelings with anyone, he just couldn’t and wouldn’t do it.
So here he was, scribbling away random thoughts for a potions essay, most of not making too much sense. It was off putting and frustrating, causing him to run his hands through his hair with a loud sigh. He tossed down his quill, leaning back in his chair, resting his neck back so he was looking up at the ceiling. Jayson wasn’t use to being thrown off sorts, he was always a charming, cool and collected guy. He brushed most things off, never stressing, this was truly his first experience with stress, and it was not going over well.
Sitting up again, he looked at his very scratched off and mostly blank paper, before leaning forward and burying his face into his arms on the table. Maybe he’d just take a nap right here, and when he woke up, he’d magically have ideas. This would likely not work, but he found himself exhausted from school work, quid ditch, the Paper Angels and Victoire Weasley. His mind was constantly full of thoughts, and quidditch was physically demanding. Who knew stress could physically effect you? Not him, not until now anyway. He really needed a bit of help.

Oh how Evelyn had been waiting for this, she had skipped out on dinner last night to try and finish up her never ending pile of homework. Though she was not plump, Evelyn sure liked to eat; she was sure it would catch up to her in her old age but she would worry about that later. Evelyn was definitely not one to skip out on meals, and she would certainly never do it again. She was piling things on her plate smiling at all the people staring like she was a lunatic. She grabbed a piece of toast first spreading some unknown spread on it and taking a bite; she smiled as her stomach settled down, it kept her up all night growling. She wiped her mouth and took a sip of her drink trying to hurry up out of there so that people would stop staring at her.
After she was finished she went up to the dormitory's to clean herself up and grab some of her homework to try to finish. As she was walking to her destination she saw a couple people she recognized, but none she really new, so she just smiled sweetly if they met her gaze. Evelyn had a habit of looking at almost everyone as she walked by them, people may think she is weird for staring but she couldn't help it, besides what if she passed by a cute boy? She laughed to herself and continued on her way. Once she got to the common room she headed to find a mirror, she ruffled her hair and grabbed her things heading back out and to the library.
She looked around the library trying to find a familiar face, there was none. She shrugged and took the nearest seat not really noticing that someone else was there until she saw all the stuff pilled up. Evelyn took a look at the boy, he was cute, very cute, and looking upset. She sighed heavily and said very nervously, "Um hi, would it bother you if I sat here?" She asked hoping he wouldn't mind because he was a great view to look at. He looked familiar but she had never talked to him before; she smiled at him waiting for his response to move or not.

As Jayson laid his head on the table, his thoughts were full, thinking of everything he still had to accomplish though out the year. He really didn’t like growing up, he hated the idea of starting his career and working for the rest of his life, this year was hard which made him realize leaving school would be harder. He would have the freedom he always wanted, his own flat and paycheck, but he would be stuck working everyday with less freetime for friends and girls. Plus more stress, less time for quidditch, which was his biggest stress reliever.
When someone spoke very near him, he peeked his head up a little, looking at the pretty blonde who was standing across from him. He figured he couldn’t be rude, so he sat up all the way, running his fingers through his now mess of hair. ”Go for it,” he replied, shrugging a shoulder to suggest he didn’t really care. Usually Jayson would have some sort of fun or flirtatious reply, but for the moment he was a bit off. With a sigh, he looked down at his essay, deciding he needed to relax and have fun like he usually did, that would likely help him with his work.
”I’m Jayson Abercrombie,” he said, reaching his hand out, not as many people shook hands now a days, but he had always been the type to like human contact. He liked hugs from friends, even the bro hugs from his guy friends, but mostly the cuddly ones from the girls. He just enjoyed being around people, Jay had never really been awkward around anyone before in his life. ”I’m surprised that I don’t know you,” he added, he was very outgoing and struck up conversations with anyone, especially attractive blondes. Apparently, blondes were his type, atleast if his interesting this year said anything.
Pushing away his essay, Jayson studied the girl for a minute, she was familiar but he’d honestly never spoken with her before. ”I’m kicking myself for not ever approaching such a beautiful girl,” he admitted, his flirty and teasing smirk on his lips. He tended to flirt a lot, but it was rarely ever serious, even if the girl was attractive.

She smiled a bit and sat down, "Thank you." She said as she arranged her things. He seemed to be a bit stressed, so she decided to try to be as quiet as possible unless he spoke to her. She new how she would be annoyed if she was upset and someone was being all chatty. However, when he did speak she was a bit relived, "Hello Jayson, I'm Evelyn Finnigan." She said to him offering her hand, this was a bit odd but she kept it there and shook it all the same. His hand was soft, she shook her head laughing at herself.
"Oh why is this?" she asked. She wasn't very well-known at the school, nor did she have a whole bunch of friends that would talk about her. His next comment made her blush ferociously, she was not used to such comments. "Well it's better late then never." she replied trying not to look like a huge dufus. The only other boy who complimented her looks was Macmillan. "your pretty handsome yourself by the way." She added smirking. She missed flirting, it was fun and she figured this was probably going to be her chance to practice.

”I talk to everyone, and its my mission to know every pretty girl,” he explained to her question, giving her a playful smile. Jayson had really needed a break from work, she was turning out to be a decent excuse for a break. When she complimented him, he just smirked, completely agreeing with her comment. He wasn’t cocky in a way where he thought he was better than everyone else, just where he knew he was a good looking, fun guy who rocked the quidditch pitch.
Jayson glanced at the school work she had brought to the library with her, he was so sick of school work. ”What are you working on?” he asked, trying to ignore and forget about his essay, he’d might ask Victoire to help if she noticed he was still struggling with it, or he’d just hand in a rather bad essay, because his pride kept him back from asking just anyone for school help. He liked to think that he could and should accomplish things on his own, he was a successful guy he shouldn’t have a problem with a stupid essay.
So far his opinion of Evelyn was good, she was a bit flirtatious in return and seemed to be rather fun. He was glad she had chosen to interrupt his study time before his brain exploded from too much thinking.
