Jason was looking for a potion book. The library was too quiet, there was only two or three students. It was better when there was nobody because he didn’t like to be seen, especially in the library. It wouldn’t be just annoying if any Slytherin saw him there. It was just a lucky day, he didn’t see any familiar face around. His eyes were still looking for an old book, the old potion book. His right hand’s finger was wandering on the books’ covers. His finger stopped suddenly, he found what he was looking for. Jason pulled the book slightly and read the cover. A smirk appeared on his face, he started to walk to his desk. There was an ink, a quill and a piece of parchment on his desk. He turned the book’s cover and read the first page carefully while he took a seat. Confusing & Befuddlement Draught, he just read the name of that potion. He turned the pages fast, he took his hand to the first lines.
The ingredients are sneezewort, scurvy-grass, and lovage Jason thought to himself. He mumbled something as reading the lines slowly. He didn’t know where he could find any of these, he wasn’t so good at Herbology class. Jason thought he could’ve listened to the professor carefully in Herbology, if he wanted to get better at Potions. Because they mostly used herbs in potions, he had to know everything about them to make the right potion. Any small mistake could cause a big trouble. He wouldn’t want it. I don’t know what sneezewort is exactly but I’ve seen scurvy-grass before. At least I still know a couple things about them he thought to himself again. Jason took his quill and started to write down on his parchment. Taking a couple notes would help him in the potions class, he had to be good at something. He always felt like he had to be good at something more than his older brother.
Jason took a deep breath as reading the book again. His head was tilted to side a little bit then he was drawn the attention. He shook his head slightly and then turned the pages again. Shrinking Potion, he thought to himself as smiling. He remembered his third year, he had almost blown up his cauldron as trying to make this potion. He tried to make that potion too many times but at the end he just made it right. It was still fun to deal with potions, more than dealing with people. Jason sighed and then turned the pages again. Calming Draught? Maybe I’ll make one then everything will be a lot easier, meh Jason thought to himself again. His eyes turned to the door, there was a student coming inside. Jason knew that face, a familiar face. But he couldn’t recognize well as the person was standing far away from him.

-- jasmine knew she really had to do some studying. potions was giving her some difficulty and she wanted to brush up on her other studies. she felt as if she had been slacking lately, and she knew her parents wouldn't be too happy about it either. the studying part wasn't too great, but jasmine did enjoy going to the library. it was probably the quietness of the place; she really didn't care for loud noises. even the great hall was almost too loud for her at times.
-- she made her way through the corridors, saying hi to a couple friends as they passed by her, but she didn't want to stop and talk. jasmine knew if she started talking, she wouldn't stop and then she wouldn't get any studying done. she made her way to the fourth floor, and finally to the doors of the library. jasmine was rather surprised that the library was practically deserted. there were only a few other students, and she didn't recognize any of them. she did, however, recognize one.
-- the boy was a slytherin, and jasmine was sure it was jason cauldwell. even from far away, she could just tell it was him. they were good friends, and he was always there for her when she needed to vent and talk to someone. they always met in the early morning, or evenings. now she was a prefect, and it was hard to meet in the evenings now. she walked up to him, smiling. "hi jason." jasmine whispered. she loved seeing her friends that she hadn't talked to in ages. they had only seen each other a couple times since the school year had started.

Jason’s eyes were still on the book but he wasn’t reading. He was just waiting for the person to pass by. A girl’s voice was heard, he tilted his head and looked at the girl. Jason knew that girl, she was Jasmine. Jasmine was one of his friends, she wasn’t Slytherin or she wasn’t in his year. It was a bit weird that how they met and got along with each other but they just did. At least Jasmine was one of these who helped him a lot, especially the homework. She was older, she knew a lot more than Jason and Jasmine was really smart. Well she was the smartest girl he had ever met at Hogwarts, Jason could say that. Anyway, they weren’t so close and they couldn’t get close. Jason knew he couldn’t hang out with her outside, in public. First of all he didn’t want to make things worse between him and other Slytherins. They were not so good to him, only a couple of them but it weren’t enough.
It was the biggest reason he just kept himself away from others, he liked to watch people instead of trying to talk to them. Yes, it didn’t work out well every single time he tried. He couldn’t even deal with his brother, but others? No. Jason gave a small smile as thinking of all of these. ”Hey there. It’s… good to see you.” Jason said, well it wasn’t a good start of a conversation. He get his stuff together and open up some space on the table. ”Take a seat.” he whispered, he didn’t want anybody to hear them or notice them. It was why his seat was in the corner, far from others. This spot was like invisible, people always passed by but never took a look. He totally forgot what he was really reading or looking for. It was always nice to talk to people he knew, who was good to him. And it’s been really long time since they spoke.
”I’m wondering what you’re doing here. I mean are you really going to study today?” Jason asked quietly, he meant many students were out. He bet they weren’t studying, they all were having fun or whatever. That was why library was so quiet today, it was better than ever. Jason stretched a little bit, then leant on his back. His eyes glared at other tables, other two or three students were studying but one of them was standing near the bookcases. Jason turned his eyes to the girl standing in front of him. He kept a small smile on his face, there was no reason to be rude or something. It was sad that Jasmine wouldn’t be here next year. It was her last year at Hogwarts, well he didn’t know what she would do after the graduation.

ooc;; ack. sorry it has taken so long. first, i forgot to bookmark the thread and theen i had to get my boyfriend ready to fly back home. but i promise i will be posting like a champ now.
-- Jasmine could tell that he hadn't recognized her at first. She felt kind of bad, he looked like he was either studying or reading something important. She hoped she hadn't interrupted him. They hadn't talked in a while, and they hardly talked when other students were around. She never got upset at that though. Jasmine knew how Slytherins could be, especially with her being a Hufflepuff and whatnot. She did enjoy helping Jason though. He was smart, and was always willing to listen to what she had to say and teach him.
-- She offered him a smile in return. "Hello. It's good to see you too! How have you been?" Jasmine asked, hoping he had been well. "Thanks." She told him, sitting down in the space he had cleared for her. They were sitting in a spot that was rather secluded. A few students passed by, but never glanced their way. It was kind of nice for a change. The space was cozy and quiet. It felt like a secret spot, or a place that was guarded by a spell so people wouldn't see them. Jasmine wondered how many of these nooks were in the library.
-- Her brown locks bounced slightly as she nodded her head. "Yeah, I don't really have anything else to do, and I need to brush up on a few things." It must sound weird to him, but Jasmine really took pride in her schoolwork. It was the only thing her parents really pushed was for her to get good marks and excel in school. Both her parents had an extreme work ethic though. Sure she procrastinated sometimes, but she did take after her parents in that fact. "What are you studying today that is more important than being outside and running around?" Jasmine asked. Even she would rather be outside with her friends, but studying always came first.

OOC;; sorry for late reply. i was away for a holiday =]
His brown eyes glared at the book again. Potions could never be important than being outside and having a little bit fun. But today he wasn’t in the mood, to have fun. He just wanted to keep a day to himself, he wanted to be on his own at least. Of course sitting in the dorm or common room wasn’t enough, he got bored every quiet day he tried to sit in the common room. It was good to find some time to study potions, only subject he was good at and he could get better. Last years, he always felt like he had to surpass his brother. At least this year, he didn’t feel like that but he still had to get better at one thing. To make somebody proud, it was always good thing. Jason smirked for a second as thinking of those, there was one more thing he was good at though.
Jason was beater on Syltherin Quidditch Team. He wasn’t so great beater, he tried his best all the time in game. He practiced a lot. Well Jason had only one day to practice every week, it was Thursday. When he got more time to practice, he took his chance. He knew he had to beat good in the game, to help chasers. It was hard for him not to beat the ones he really disliked or hated. It was his first year being on the time so he didn’t know if he could control himself. He didn’t know if he stopped himself not beating other team’s players because of his hatred. It would be fun though, he always wanted to do that when he watched the games. Jason became a team member this year, he should’ve kept it like that. Jason knew he wouldn’t do something stupid like beating somebody with Bludger because of hatred. He knew he could get detention or something worse thing could happen after all.
Jason shook his head slightly to get rid of those thoughts. His eyes turned to the girl again. She looks so nice today, well she’s always pretty. It’s better to be friends, not very close and not cold ones. Jasmine is a good girl and funny and at least she can make classes fun, not hell Jason thought to himself as watching her movements. ”To be honest, I was bored in the common room. You know everybody’s out.” he said with a small smile. Jason always looked like a cold person, he didn’t smile much not even small smiles. But when he was with a friend or somebody he liked, he always kept a small smile on his face. At least they could get that he wasn’t being cold to them or whatever. ”I’m just studying potions. It’s an old book but useful one though. If I don’t remember wrong, there’s no potions homework. What are you going to study then? Maybe you can check out potions too, I mean I'm always open for your help.” Jason chuckled as speaking with a soft tone. He hoped there was no homework though.

so sorry! once i was able to post, i got sick! just my luck...
-- jasmine was glad to be talking to someone, and to just be out and about. and by seeing jason, it was kind of persuading her to actually brush up on things instead of just wander about and get lost among the shelves. she had a habit of doing that. well, she had before she became a prefect. now most of her time was spent helping first years, and patrolling the halls to make sure no mischief was afoot. it was normally pretty quiet though. she was sure it wouldn't always be like this though. it wasn't hard to get horror stories about the job. but she was almost positive most of them had been made up.
-- she wondered if jason needed any help studying. jasmine sometimes like to have someone go over the material with her and quiz her. she had difficulty studying by herself. she always got sidetracked or just didn't really pay attention. she remembered potions had been one of her more difficult subjects. for some of the students it just came naturally, but jasmine had to study it practically day and night until she was one hundred percent sure she could ace any test and questions thrown at her.
-- she nodded in agreement. she knew the feeling all too well. "sometimes it just gets really crowded, then other times it's totally deserted!" she said giggling softly. her own common room had hardly been full when she left to come here. it was a pretty nice day out, and everyone seemed to be busy. sure she wished she was outside, but studies came first, and if she had gone outside she wouldn't have caught up with jason. "sometimes the older books are the best." jasmine said. one time she had found some small notes in a book, but had kept it far out of sight from the teachers. "i'm up here for potions, too. anything in particular you need help with?" jasmine asked, smiling.
