The day was young, and that didn't make the feeling of anxiety go away at all. In fact, Dahlia wished the day was over with, so this part of the day was totally gone. She was pacing the common room, wondering if the person she was waiting for would show. She didn't expect her to, seeing as she hadn't been nice to her exactly. Of course, Dahlia wasn't nice to a lot of people, but that was because she was afraid of losing her status in this school. She was at the top. She had friends that were her friends ever since they were little and yet, she was so afraid to lose them if she were to just be herself. It made her think though. We're they truly her friends if they would just ditch her because she was herself? Weren't friends supposed to accept you no matter what, because they were your friends? It was all so confusing to her. So yes, she was fake. She was acting mean to keep what she was so comfortable with. She wasn't like that though. She wanted to make new friends so desperately. She wanted to help others and not feel like she was going to disappoint someone. It was bad enough she was in Gryffindor and not Slytherin. Every single one of her friends and family were in Slytherin, except for her. It was hard and still to this day it haunted her.
There was one person though. One person who knew who she was. One person she could be herself around. Of course, it didn't start out like that. She tried to be mean to him. She yelled and teased and tried so hard to break him, but it didn't work. Why? Because he was deaf and saying anything was pointless. After a while she basically said screw it and tried to befriend him. It worked, and now they're friends. Getting closer each day too, in her opinion. And what better way to get closer to him than to learn to communicate with him in the way he understands? Yes, that's right, she was learning how to sign so that she could talk to him. She had already learned a bit, from his interpreter, but she felt it was time to take a leap of faith and confront his sister Roxanne. Who was this boy? It was none other than Fred Weasley and she was about to confide in his sister, Roxanne Weasley.
It was quite funny that Dahlia was becoming close to a Weasley. She was a Crabbe. Crabbes and Weasleys hated each other. It was kind of like a forbidden friendship, which was why it was secret at the moment. She didn't want to be any more of a disappointment than she already was. She wasn't letting it go, though. She kind of, loved the idea of being friends with Fred. He was sweet and he was the first person she could be herself with. Who would give something like that up? There might have even been something there, like, a special place in her heart for him. There might be, feelings, but she wouldn't admit to it. Not now. There was too much at stake to even think about bringing that up with him. Especially if he didn't feel the same. Why would he like her anyway? There were other girls that were so much better for him. She didn't deserve him. She was just lucky to have him as a friend.
Anyway, earlier that day, Dahlia sent a letter to Roxy, the mentioned sister of Fred. She wanted to get Roxy to trust her, even if it meant exposing herself to one more person. It was worth it though, for Fred. She needed Roxy to trust her, or getting any closer to Fred would be pointless. She already knew her family would be against it, but that didn't matter, if she had acceptance from his side. As long as she had that, she'd be perfectly content. At least, for now. So yes, she was waiting in the common room. Finally getting sick of pacing back and forth, she let herself fall back into an armchair behind her. She wasn't coming. She knew it. Why would she even think that his sister would give her the time of day? She probably hated Dahlia. Honestly, she wouldn't blame her. Even her letter was quite awkward, so maybe she just threw it out or something. This is what it said;
Roxanne Weasley,
Um, come to the Gryffindor Common Room... Please? I kind of have to talk to you.Dahlia Crabbe
Yeah, it was doubtful she'd want to show for a letter like that. What an epic fail.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
