The gameskeeper was not at his cabin, which was perfectly fine with Nora because it provided somewhere to find peace and quiet. Most people didn't come down here at all, but she personally enjoyed it, and when he was here she enjoyed speaking with him. He was a very nice man, his love for magical creatures was adorable to her.
Sitting down on the front steps, Nora dug through her bag, pulling out the quibbler. Originally she hadn't really read it, but Lysander had begun to give her copies and she found it rather interesting. From other people she heard a lot of it wasn't true, or atleast in their eyes. But she was muggleborn and she wanted to figure out what was real and not real on her own. Not to mention after the shock of discovering that Wizards were real, she figured anything was possible.
Flipping through the pages, she tucked her hair behind her ear, it was such a poof ball. It was rather annoying, so curly and fluffy, it sort of made her feel like a troll, but when it was kept short it look like an afro, so she'd take a long puff ball versus the fro look anyday. It was rather soft though, if anyone were to actually touch it, she often would run her fingers through it when she was thinking, such as now as she read the quibbler in solitude.

Scouring the grounds, Dominic had nothing better to do. Boredom had set within the castle walls, so he decided he wanted to be somewhat adventurous. But not too much. Plus, the wind felt good on his hot skin. It wasn't a day filled with heat, but his body temperature was a bit higher than normal. Anyway. He had somehow wound up around Hagrid's cabin. Curiosity had him peering around the half-giant's house. It was a cozy cottage, one that he didn't mind visiting every now and then. Hagrid had a good heart and he was a nice man, lovely company. But, it looked as though he wasn't home - from the back. A small frown settled on his lips. He would've liked to make some small conversation with him.. maybe discuss something along the line of.. werewolves? Dom chuckled. It wasn't funny and yet, it was.
Then, he spotted someone sitting in on his front steps as he was walking passed Hagrid's home. Turning to look at her more so, he saw her hair first. It was rather fluffy and somewhat long. Nora Sinclair. Such a shy but sweet girl. She looked like she was content with what she was doing, but she was already an intriguing person. Dominic found himself walking over to her. Stopping just in front of her, he half-smiled. " Hello there, " A bit of an unsure tone was in his voice, because he didn't want to be a bother. But he did want to say hello - and not be rude if she had seen him walking away from her. It was better to say something than knowingly walk away. Especially since they've run into each other before. He liked her so far, she had a good vibe about her.
" I don't mean to be a bother, but I saw you sitting by yourself. I figured I'd say hello and be on my way, if you didn't wish to chat. " Pushing his hands into the pockets of his jeans, he stood there, watching her with his blue eyes. Dominic surveyed her position with kindness. " And, you deserved a greeting. " He added afterward, not wanting to be intrusive. Actually, he was only being friendly. Nora, so far, had been quiet and they had only met a couple of times. Mainly because of classes, since they were in different houses. And, he liked when he spoke to her - even though it had been brief more often than not. Hopefully, she could become a friend. That's what he was always looking for - to be someone's friend.

Nora was very immersed in her Quibbler, reading an article on the purple sky, the magic build up and such. It sounded quiet wonderful, she would have to speak with Lysander on the subject. A lot of people didn’t seem to believe the things they read in there, but she always wanted to believe in them, even the sort of scary creatures, especially because Lysander did believe in them, and she liked him, he was her friend.
It shocked her when someone spoke, she had thought she was completely alone, not to mention she had been so into the article that she hadn’t even heard him approach until he spoke to her. Glancing up quickly with a surprised expression, Nora saw Dominic Tonks, someone she had classes with since they were in the same year. Being quiet made her a very observant person, and the few times in classes that they had interacted he had been nothing but nice to her. The thing was, she tended to assume when people were nice to her it was because they felt bad or didn’t want to be rude. She didn’t want anyone to feel bad for her, to befriend her out of pity, those weren’t real friends, she just never could accept that some people might just like her or enjoy her company.
When he explained his greeting, Nora was still staring up at him in surprise, she wasn’t use to being approached very often. Classes were one thing, you had to interact, but no one had to speak with her out here. Tilting her head to the side curiously, she was unsure of if she wanted him to stay or not, mainly because she was terrible company and wouldn’t know what to say, she hadn’t even greeted him back yet! His next comment was persuasive in her choice though, he sounded truly sincere when he said she deserved a greeting, she didn’t think anyone noticed her let alone thought she deserved anything. With a small blush, she looked back down at her quibbler, but only so her hair would fall and hide her now rather pink cheeks.
She knew she had to say something, she was certain she looked strange just sitting here silently this so time. Nora really hated herself for always being so socially awkward, everyone else had no problem with communicating, but it never worked out for her. Finally she looked up at him once again, biting on her bottom lip, her stomach was full of butterflies from her nerves. ”I wouldn’t mind the company,” she spoke very softly, unsure of if he could even make out what she said.
Nora had three best friends, which had taken her about two years before she was speaking with them and really comfortable. Of course it was silly to be so scared of people, to assume they were always judging you, she just couldn’t help it, she felt like something was wrong with her, like she was broken and didn’t understand socialization rules. She always said the wrong thing, always embarrassed herself, and knowing she would do it caused her to stay quiet and push people away. Closing her quibbler, she cleared her throat slightly, pushing her hair back from her face.
”Have you read about the purple sky?” she asked, her voice still soft and unsure. It was her attempt at a conversation starter, but as soon as she said it she felt silly, most people didn’t read the Quibbler or believe what was written in it. It would have made more sense to ask what brought him down here, or how his day was going, but her mind didn’t make sense most of the time, she didn’t think of the right things to say until after she already said the wrong ones. Regardless, she couldn’t take it back now, so she looked up at him shyly, biting on her bottom lip, waiting to see what he would say of if he would just walk away from her now.

Her reaction was surprise when she finally realize that he had said something to her. The expression on her face was partially unreadable and yet - you could tell that she hadn't been expecting him. So, she wouldn't have noticed him walking by. But that honestly didn't matter to him. Dominic was now more interested in speaking to her, having a general conversation about nothing or everything. That usually happened when he was around someone that he wanted to get to know, no matter how long it took. He enjoyed the conversation, the content atmosphere, and the general joy of having a friend that came out of it. Plus, he was feeling lonely. There was something about the day that made him feel quite.. out of place. As if he wasn't sure where he was going. That didn't get him down, though. Which was why he kept a pleasantly small smile on his lips. His blues eyes flicked up toward Hagrid's hut and then back down to Nora. Her eyes, themselves, were captivating. They were a bit brighter and they made him stare. Well now, that wasn't exactly polite. After his own realization, he glanced away, because he didn't want to appear as though he was already swooning over her. Some people got that vibe from him.. But he wasn't sure if they were right or not. His emotional feelings.. they rarely were listened to when he was in the middle of talking to someone who thought of him as a friend. Not to mention, he was the oblivious type.
She finally answered, so softly that he wouldn't have been able to hear it if the wind had caught her words. But, he did and believed it was something along the lines of not minding his company. This made his smile grow because he did wish to just speak to her. But, if she had refused him, then he would've been on his way, no hard feelings. Dominic wasn't one to take things so personally, so he didn't let things get to him. If he did, then he would be in a bit of trouble. Anyhow. He nodded. " Mind if I sit beside you? Or, even right here? I could keep standing, if you wanted, but I'm afraid my legs are getting a bit tired.. But, I really don't mind if you didn't want me to sit. " The tingles of tiredness in his legs had been grinding him, and he felt like he had to finally give in. But, he wouldn't do so unless she accepted. He wouldn't want to make her uncomfortable by any means. Honestly, he wasn't up for proving the unexpected. You see, he was the type of guy to do things on everyone else's terms, because he respected them and had their best interests at heart. Unless, they proved they didn't deserve it. So far, only a few people had done thing, but it had never affected his mindset or decisions. It frustrated some people, by how they couldn't get under his skin. He was too laid back, calm, and reserved for that to happen. His weaknesses her unknown at the moment - so he didn't have much to worry about. Instead, he could be who he wanted to be.
Yes, he had another side to him. A juvenile delinquent side that was often seen with his best and closest friends, because they were always pranking and joking around. They had to. What other entertainment was there? But Dominic made sure that it was all good fun and nothing too bad. Not everyone knew that side, but they could guess when he was around the other guys. On his own, he was a bit different. And he then looked at what Nora had been reading; The Quibbler. Nothing wrong with it. There were plenty of stories and rumours that were held within its pages, but he had skimmed it quite a few times. Random copies would be strewn about the commons, so he'd grab and read up on whatever there was to read. Why not? His mind loved to absorb whatever he could put his hands on. " Oh, the purple sky? Why yes. I have. Isn't it interesting how it all happened? How they still can't find some of the answers that they're so busy searching for? You would think there would be more clues behind, but who really knows? I found that to be a fascinating piece, because it makes you wonder and then adds unsure measures. " Dom nodded his head, his expression animating as he spoke about it. Truthfully, he hadn't read the entire article, but he had read plenty of bits and pieces.. Plus, it had been a reoccuring thing of information for.. two editions of The Quibbler, he believed? Perhaps more but he couldn't be sure.

Nora wasn’t use to people making an effort to speak with her and get to know her. The first and only person to really do that had been Arabella, and from there she was introduced to Colin and Lysander. Those were her only real friends, anyone else was just an acquaintance who she normally wouldn’t speak to unless they spoke to her first. People probably thought she was stuck up or disliked them since she would keep to herself so much, it was so far from the truth though, if they got to know her they’d see she was just very shy and insecure about herself.
As she glanced up, she noticed him lock eyes with her, staring for a decently long period of time, causing her to blush slightly and look away when he did. He amazed her how nice and thoughtful he seemed, she’d never meant someone who seemed to care so much for others, people he didn’t even know. Thinking about it, Nora figured she might actually be similar to him if she wasn’t too shy to approach people. Constantly observing others, there were many situations where she wanted to go up to someone and help them or cheer them up, she just never mustered up the courage to go through with it.
The way his smile grew at her response caused her to smile, not one of her small shy ones, but a real smile, although she still wouldn’t make eye contact again. She just couldn’t hold eye contact with people, it always felt awkward, Nora felt like she was coming off as creepy when she stared straight on at someone, she preferred focusing on something else. When he asked if he could sit, offering to sit on the ground or wherever she preferred, he once again threw her off guard. This time she quickly thought it over, before scooting off to the side more so he could sit next to her. Again, she gave him a small smile and slight nod, patting the spot next to her lightly. ”Feel free,” she added, before glancing down at her Quibbler for a minute.
A sigh of relief almost escaped her lips as he began talking about the article, he really knew how to make someone feel more comfortable. She wondered if he was making an effort to be especially nice with her, or if he was truly this way with everyone. Of course, she hadn’t really seen the side of him that pulled pranks and got into a bit of mischief, but it wouldn’t bother her either, as long as anything he did didn’t hurt anyone else, then she might lose the respect she was now gaining for him. Nora was very quickly finding herself liking Dom, of course he was a very likable person.
She nodded her head to his comments, looking from her Quibbler back up to him, her stomach was still full of butterflies from nerves of talking to someone new, but she was actually beginning to enjoy this moment. ”It is,” she agreed, before giving him a curious and unsure look. ”Do you believe its true then?” she asked, before biting on her bottom lip lightly, her nervous habit. Nora was muggleborn, upon attending Hogwarts she decided that anything must be possible if all of this was, but she heard comments about the Quibbler being mostly fiction, so she often was unsure but chose to believe it. Lysander did, but then again people found him odd, so he wasn’t always the best example. ”It sounds beautiful, if it is true,” she added thoughtfully, glancing up at the now clear blue sky. Magic was an amazing thing, she didn’t think many students here appreciated it, but from her view point of never knowing or having it before, it was wonderful it so many ways. Being here was like living a fairytale, one she never quiet got use to, there would always be something new for her to learn, something exciting and beautiful.
Ooc: might be super jumpy, I would write a paragraph and then would run off to do something, so it could be all over the place and not make too much sense. Sorry! xP

Dominic had noticed that Nora had always been the type that used few words, unlike himself. Maybe it was just that way because she wasn't fond of speaking a slew of sentences at a time.. Which was what he usually did. He'd try to explain something over and over again, not really sure if what he was saying could be understood. More often than not, he would talk in absolute circles, just adding to the confusion. Of course, if he could help it, he wouldn't speak at all. But then he opens his mouth, because he feels like everyone should be included in things. When he caught her eyes, though, he felt hopeful. There was something within the depths of her eyes that seemed to hold significance. And her smile afterward was breathtaking enough to feel like he had never seen her truly smile until then. Shocking. He'd given her a true smile, even though he was merely a stranger she'd seen around in classes. At that, he felt lucky. Nora's smiled seemed as though it was rare. So, he adjusted his glasses and stopped staring at her. He didn't want to come off as a creep or anything, so he figured it was best not to seem like he was staring at her. Honestly, he didn't need more things under his belt of what could be passed around about him. He was sure one day, his fears would come true about his secrets.. and it was a time that he never liked to think about. What would he do if everyone knew? He wasn't sure.. at all. And that's what worried him the most. Would he become savage? Or would he run? Or, would he stand there and face everything - head on. But the worst part was.. he was more afraid of himself and what he could do more than anything else.
When she patted the seat beside herself, he slid onto the spot with ease. Hagrid's hut was then to his back and she was beside him. Clasping his hands together, he looked down at the Quibbler, too. It was either that, stare at her again, or stare at the greenery around them - which wasn't as exciting as you'd think. Looking at her was what interested him, because he wanted to get to know her, learn about her, and listen to her. He was that way with mostly everyone. But he didn't like to force anything, seem like he was anything other than genuine. Not many people were like him, he knew that. Dominic wore his heart on his sleeve, because that's all he knew. Why be something he wasn't? And he wasn't a jerk. So, why would he want to be one? Most guys were obnoxious, judgmental, or stereotypical. He wasn't that kind of guy. He was true, honest, and himself.. What else could he be? (Well. He could be a reincarnation, but as if he could figure that out.) " Why, thank you, kind lady. I appreciate it. " He thanked her gratefully with a nod for being able to sit beside her. Dominic felt that it was necessary to use his polite manners, even when his friends tried to break him of it - but it didn't work. He just always had the needed to say things that were respectful and dignified. Or, perhaps, it was just how he wanted to portray himself. There were times when he wanted to be known for his kindness.. and not his pranks.
When Nora looked back at him, his attention immediately went back to her after his thoughts had wondered a bit. And she wanted to know if he thought it was true. He wasn't entirely sure, because of all the rumours of the Quibbler.. but a part of him wanted to believe it was true, because of how inspiring it would be to see. " I honestly don't know if it's true.. but I like to think it might be possible.. Imagine the emotion that'd fill you up from seeing it, the gorgeousness.. The inspiration that could come from it.. " His voice faded off as he glanced toward the sky, imagining if the article had been true. " It does sound beautiful. I wish I could make it happen for you. " Dominic responded. But he wasn't that good of a wizard. If he could ever discover or create a spell to do just that - he would. And Nora would be the first person to see it. However, he was doubtful of the stretch of his powers. Considering he was a werewolf.. that did magic. There was only so much of him that could use that magic.. and if he did, what would happen to his form. Would it override his "human" state? Or would it fail completely? He was unsure of everything, because there was such a lack of information. One day, he'd find everything out for certain. He just needed that day to come and help him out. Dominic needed answers.. and information. Without it, he felt completely lost. Like as if he didn't know where he belonged.

Nora had few relationships in her life, she had her parents of course, and her brother. Then there were he three best friends, they were wonderful in her eyes, but truthfully all she had. As a child she had spent her time following her brother and his friends, never really making her own. When she began Hogwarts and befriended Bella, then the boys, she cut herself off there. It was a struggle on her part to make friends, to put yourself out there, and she didn’t like to do it. It was likely that she was missing out on a lot of wonderful relationships, but she just couldn’t bring herself to go up to people and just talk, or even talk when they approached her. As far as real relationships, dating and such, she had never been anywhere close to them. Actually, she had never really had a ‘crush’ on any guys, mostly because she didn’t know any of them. Colin and Lysander were like her older brothers and they were the only two boys she knew in the school, which left her with no chances to ever find herself interested in anyone.
When Dominic began to answer her question, she found a little amusement in the way he always had elaborate responses, while she kept her comments as simple as possible. This was mainly because she didn’t want to end up saying something stupid or embarrassing, but she knew her lack of speaking came off as strange anyway, it was as if she couldn’t win. He seemed to think the same way as her though, hoping it was true but not sure if he really believed it to be. Nora was sort of a dreamer though, Hogwarts was her fairytale and she constantly dreamed up new wonderful things to be brought into her story. She was also a bit of a romantic, she had read romance novels and watched romantic comedies. Realistically she never expected a wonderful man to sweep her off her feet, she wasn’t one of those girls in the movies who was beautiful or funny, she constantly reminded herself that didn’t happen. Except, deep down where she would never admit it to herself, she was hoping someone would do just that, swoop in and see her as perfect despite her millions of imperfections.
I wish I could make it happen for you, the comment replayed itself in her head, looking next to her as he stared up at the sky, seeming to get lost and thought after his comment. He was beginning to make her feel as if he had walked out of one of those muggle romance movies she enjoyed watching. It was a rather sweet comment, although he seemed to think nothing of it, this entire time he acted as though his rather perfect comments were nothing special. Nora told herself not to over think them, he seemed to not notice and she was certain he must be this way with everyone. How he always knew the right thing to say she wasn’t sure, but she wished she had just a little bit of his charm rather than her constantly awkward appearance.
”We should come out that night, lay out and watch the stars, see if it really happens,” she hadn’t planned on making such a suggestion, but it was out of her mouth before she realized she had spoken. Of course she loved the idea of not only spending time with him, which was a rarity for her to want, but also getting a chance to possibly see something so beautiful. Nora looked away from him finally, looking down at her lap for a minute. ”Even if it didn’t happen, I love watching the stars,” she added softly, she loved being outside at night, it was always beautiful, before quickly glancing back over at him. She had begun to feel more relaxed around him, but her attempt to make plans was causing her heart to race, her nerves picking up again in her wait for a response.
