It had been two short weeks since the potions obsessed Ravenclaw had had much of a break. The fame he had gotten from his recent trips to Hogsmeade had been bothersome. People all over the school were all asking questions and telling the story for him, embellishing it to the point of impossibility.
One story had him and Ted Lupin fighting off four Death Eaters and a horde of Inferi, to which Alex nearly smacked the person across the back of the head to maybe knock sense into them.
Finally escaping the public eye, Alex found himself leaning against a tree and looking out at Black Lake. It was peaceful there, the gentle waves of the lake water lulling him into a sense of security. He closed his eyes, and found himself trying to meditate.
He hadn't seen any of his new friends in the weeks since his battle with the death eater. This wouldn't have bothered him usually, but he felt himself wanting to talk with Ted, the only other person who had been there. He was tired of hearing everyone else's story about what he did.
Alex sighed.
"Damn Death Eaters. Damn knife stealing aurors...."
Yeah, he hadn't gotten over the knife either.

Victoire had just finished up her final class of the day and ventured up to the Gryffindor tower. She'd changed from her school robes into a pink, purple, and blue dress. She matched it with white sandals, a white sweater, and then allowed her hair to fall down her shoulders, as she had pinned it up early that morning. Now that she was done with class, Toire had ensured to give herself time outside. She loved nature and being outside. It all lifted her spirits. Victoire was caught by a Gryffindor male in the room as she'd been on the way out, and conversed with him quickly. Of course, when she said she had to be off, he had grabbed her wrist and tried to flirt. Victoire shook him off, though, and stomped out angrily.
She didn't understand why boys acted like jerks sometimes. That boy was younger, though, and she tried to plausibly argue that he was just immature. However, Victoire was enslaved by the idea that boys weren't just immature. They had to realize that wasn't right, right? She sighed. Vic calmed down once she reached the third floor, and continued her venture down the moving staircases with a bit more happiness. Once she got to the first floor, her whole confrontation with the boy was over in her head. She simply let it go and quickly skipped toward the grounds. Someone else had touched her shoulder in the hall, but before she could yell at them, they seemed to have only touched her while squeezing between her and someone else in the crowd.
Toire needed to watch her temper.
She didn't know why she was developing this sudden touchiness for things lately, but she hoped it would stop. Victoire grinned as she felt the fall air against her cheeks. It wasn't cold, but was slightly cool. It felt amazing. Still, she could feel goosebumps traveling up her legs. She shivered slightly in her spot, then began to walk across the grounds toward the lake. She knew it'd be quite more chilly near the water, but she wanted to admire the sun on the surface before heading in for dinner. Victoire had nearly approached the lake before she saw a familiar boy sitting underneath a tree. "Hey! Alex!"
[/color] she called, then skipped over to him. She grinned and then sat beside him, touching his shoulder. "How are you?"[/color] she asked. She hadn't heard any of the stories about him in Hogsmeade with Teddy. Of course, once in the castle, Victoire tended to ignore all gossip unless it had to do with the Paper Angels or class.[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

teddy had been pretty bored for the last two weeks. ever since he had returned from hogsmeade on that one fateful day where he had battled a death eater in the three broomsticks with alex, a ravenclaw. nothing of interest had happened since, besides the spreading rumors of that weekend. of course, half the rumors had come from teddy himself. he didn't exactly want the school to know that they had used pathetic second year dueling spells and that they had almost lost because he had failed at blocking a spell. so most of the school thought they had been totally and completely badass and fought the guy with interesting spells, cool moves and no injuries. he played up alex using his knife a little. he played up him kicking the guy a little. he played up...well, pretty much everything. it made the story more interesting, that was for sure.
after awhile though, he was getting sick of people coming up and questioning him about what had really happened that day. people asked if he would put the memory of his show in a pensive and show them, so they could judge if his prank on the waiter had been inappropriate. he even had professors asking him about the techniques he had used when casting spells, so they could give him pointers in case it ever happened again.
when would he ever fight a psychopath former death eater ex-waiter who lost his job at the three broomsticks because of a prank? NEVER.
but he had to get out of the school and away from all the curious kids. so he went out to the grounds, aimlessly walking around for no apparent reason but to be outside. when he first saw alex, he hadn't noticed victoire was there as well. so, he cooked up a little scheme. he focused, thinking about the death eater in the pub. then, he slowly morphed his image so he would look exactly like him. hopefully, it was a good enough replica to make alex believe it. he walked out to the ravenclaw and threw a sadistic grin on his face. "i'm going to get you for that knife in the shoulder, kid." [/blockquote]

Alex jolted in surprise as his shoulder was touched, looking beside him to see his blonde friend.
"I am quite well, miss Victoire. I'm just trying to enjoy some peace and quiet. The last couple of weeks have been quite hectic for me. Dispelling rumors are no fun, my friend," he said, figuring she had heard about what he had been through.
"How are you? Classes going well?"
Then he heard it.
The voice made his blood run cold, and he looked behind him to see the death eater he'd helped put away behind him. The knife he had lost was a sore point to him. Alex pulled out his wand and turned around in an instant.
"I'm going to get you for making me lose that knife. How's it feel being bald...wait a minute..."
Alex cursed the man's hair off. It had fallen off in patches. He remembered it. This man's hair was back perfectly. Even if that had been explained with magic, the man wouldn't have been able to get on Hogwart's ground undetected, nor would he had announced his presence if he had been looking for revenge.
However, there was a person that he knew enjoyed pranking people and had the ability to shapeshift into any human form he wanted, and only one person who would know what that man looked like.
Alex sighed.
"Ted, if you ever prank me like this again, I will spike yours and the entire Gryffindor Quidditch team's pumpkin juice with the most powerful laxative I can brew for the rest of the year. I almost stunned you, you dolt."

She stared off into space as she awaited his answer, of course on how he was doing. When Victoire clued back in and heard about the rumors, she was quite shocked. She honestly hadn't heard anything about him. Toire raised an eyebrow. "Rumors?"
[/color] she asked, then shrugged it off. However, she knew it had to have dealt with something fairly big. Alex wasn't a very popular person, no offense, so if he felt as though the whole school was talking about him, Toire knew it must have been for something newsworthy. After Alexander spoke, though, Victoire looked up. A deep voice had just pronounced its owner's presence, and wasn't happy about it. The man before them was ugly, disturbing, and extremely creepy. His words chilled her to the bone. Toire's eyes widened and she quickly snatched her wand out of her sleeve, stood, and aimed it at him. "....wait a minute." When Alex began to hesitate his harsh counterargument, Vic turned slightly to face him, still holding up her wand to the man. When he began going on about how it must have been Ted, she sighed and put away her wand. She followed his logic before he even had to explain his knowledge of the man being an imposter. Victoire realized that for someone, not a student nor professor, to get on the castle grounds, they had to go through the gate - which was manned very successfully. Plus, one couldn't apparate on the grounds, so he couldn't have got around any of the security features of the castle or its grounds. It didn't make sense, though, to her. Why was Teddy dressed up like a mad man? And how the bloody hell did he even know Alex? Alexander was in Ravenclaw, and Victoire knew that Ted didn't spend a lot of time with those of the house. Most of them tended to be extremely washed out, faded of sorts and the others carried with them characterisitcs of a nasty Slytherin. Alex was one of the very few exceptions to the rule. However, Ted wouldn't have even attempted to break past the barrier, would he? Victoire sighed. It seemed this whole charade was very complicated, and she really didn't want to know the story. It was probably something very foolish. Toire was certain, though, that if it involved action, Ted was most likely going to play narrator shortly. [/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

teddy wanted to snort when he heard alexander's reaction to seeing his dear old death eater friend once again. he was still hung up on that knife he lost during the fight? couldn't he just get another one? after all, it was nothing special. just another knife. plus, if he wanted to get technical, it hadn't even been the death eater that caused him to lose the knife. it had been the auror that showed up with harry who had taken it.
he was pretty surprised to see victoire standing there. that wasn't good. while alex was slow on his attacks, victoire was on of the top of their year and probably wouldn't hesitate to throw a spell at a man as creepy as what teddy looked like right now. so he was pretty glad when alexander said wait a minute, even though that meant his prank hadn't worked. he would rather have a failed prank and keep himself normal than be hexed by victoire. he had no idea what she was capable of, and he really wasn't too interested in finding out.
teddy let the death eater look drop, falling easily back into his own skin. he could have held on to the act later, but if anyone else had seen them and hadn't know it was teddy, it could have resulted in someone getting cursed. namely, him. "how'd you know it was me?" he asked, pouting before winking at victoire. he had assumed she had heard the rumors about alex and him, but by the look on her face, she hadn't. plus, how did she even know alex anyway? "me and this fine gentleman here had a run in with that lovely looking man i was impersonating" [/blockquote]

"Oh you haven't heard? It was my impression that everyone had heard. I fought a Death Eater a few weeks ago because one of your housemates randomly decided to get him fired from his day job. Theodore Lupin. You know em? He pranked this guy, got me involved, and..."
Before he could finish his story, Alex found himself confronting the Death Eater, and was quite relieved to see his blonde friend pointing a wand at the Death Eater. He had found out from others that the girl was quite skilled at magic, moreso than himself, and he had taken this man on before with little help last time, no offense to Teddy. Well, Teddy had provided a sufficient distraction at least.
Granted, he had mostly won through luck last time, instead of skill. And he'd lost his knife.
Alex grunted in annoyance, debating on whether or not hexing Teddy anyway for the little stunt.
"As I was saying, Miss Victoire, Ted and I ended up in quite a deadly duel with a Death Eater.. Teddy ran distraction while I bombarded him with every decent offensive spell I knew. Then I stabbed him in the shoulder, and then, aurors and Harry Potter came in and one of them stole my knife," he said, before muttering under his breath about "dirty, thieving, bastard aurors" and sighing.
He turned to Ted and glared. "As for you... your hair was wrong. I cursed it off after you went blind. That, and I trust Harry Potter to be vengeful enough to keep an eye on a man that assaulted his godson," Alex said, nodding sagely.
Ravenclaw logic skills, for the win.
