Sometimes the best ideas came about when Roxanne Weasley was bored. After all, boredom was just about the bane of Roxy's existence, and she was known for coming up with many a harebrained scheme just to combat it. It was a dull Saturday afternoon; there were no classes, no parties, and it wasn't even a Hogsmeade weekend. She had wanted to spend the day in her dad's shop, but George had to run all sorts of boring errands that day, such as sorting out the Gringotts vault and checking the store's back room stock. It was a day when all Roxy wanted to do was get out and move around, but she seemed to be trapped indoors in a box of boredom. And this was so not okay.
It was for this reason that she decided she needed to go locate her partner in crime, Landon, and drag him along on some sort of adventure she hadn't thought of yet. As she walked, she brainstormed ideas, until she remembered a conversation they'd had the other day about playing pranks on teachers. Like her father, Roxy was a notorious prankster and she loved that feeling of adrenaline from dashing away and barely avoiding being caught. It was hilarious, it was exhilarating, and it was definitely not boring.
Eventually, Roxy had found Landon in the hallway and they had agreed to meet in the greenhouse for some delightful entertainment. Clearly, when it came to pranking teachers, Professor Longbottom was the best way to go. He was cool, but extremely easy to pick on even as a teacher. Rox had heard all the amusing stories from her parents and aunts and uncles about the professor in his own Hogwarts days. Plus, he was a good friend of the family, which meant that if he did find out, it wouldn't be taken quite as personally.
She knew they only had a limited time in which to execute their plans, so the redhead was looking around trying to sort out exactly how it would come to happen. The idea was set up the room so that the professor's slightest movements would set off the mimbulus mimbletonia, which would cause stinksap to flood the room and make it smell generally rancid for the next few hours. This might have been mean, but she felt it was a bit kinder than her original idea of trapping mandrakes in a bubble so that the only way you could shut them up was to remove the bubble charm and knock yourself out from the unmuffled sound.
Roxy pulled out the worn, old castle map that her dad had given her to track how far Landon was from the greenhouse, as well as where the Herbology professor was in the castle. This map was one of her mischief-making essentials; she wouldn't play a prank without it. She knew there was tons of history behind it, too; it was creased, bent, and tattered in many places, and she'd never seen another one like it in her time at Hogwarts. She always tried very hard to be careful with it, which wasn't something she could say for most things. She knew the map meant a lot to her dad because it was a memory from her late uncle's days, so it was definitely something worth taking care of.

Post by LANDON DREW TAYLOR on Aug 8, 2011 13:32:10 GMT -5
It was a sleepy Saturday afternoon and Landon had been lounging in the common room, taking several naps due to his lack of muse for his studies. There was no way he was going to focus on his Potions homework for longer than five minutes. He was pretty good at most subjects, but he was terrible at motivating himself to actually do the work. He wasn't used to trying so hard, so he just let things happen as they came. It had worked in his favor, for the most part.
Landon was bored yet content; he didn't have to get up for anything aside from breakfast. Aside from eating, he had absolutely no idea what to do with the rest of the day. Skip stones in the Black Lake? Sleep again? Think about doing homework? His mind buzzed with all the possible things he could do -- or put off -- and he stumbled upon Roxy, his best female friend. Phew. She was the perfect remedy to the monotony of the day.
The plan was all perfectly constructed; they would pull a prank on Professor Longbottom. He was the most awkward staff member; he often tripped during class and cracked pots. He would be the ideal victim to their Mission 506: Stinksap. The poor teacher wouldn't know what hit him and probably take until Sunday to figure out how to remove the stench. Thankfully he had convinced Roxy to change her plan to make him unconscious. That surely wouldn't sit well with Filch.
Landon had waited, watching the owl clock's pendulum swing back and forth, feeling his eyes droop. Upon drifting off to sleep again, an unknown force made him fall out of his chair. The clock's minute hand had advanced half an hour! Shoot, he must be late!
Landon quickly slipped on his robes and his hand fumbled for the wand on the nightstand. He'd probably never hear the end of it. Dammit! He dashed as fast as he could to the greenhouse, trying not to trip or give his motives away -- maybe people would think he just wanted to run, who knows -- and passed curious students, befuddled teachers, lots of cats. Why did we pick somewhere so damn far.. The boy showed up panting at the greenhouses, finally reaching Roxy. He wiped a drop of sweat from his brow and gave an apologetic smile. "Er, sorry I'm late, Rox. I, uh.. had to get some last minute things."
Once he had caught his breath, Landon peered over her shoulder at the shoddy piece of parchment. He furrowed a brow, the most curious feeling filling him. It was sort of like nostalgia.. but he had never seen the page before. It felt like it was.. familiar, but not. It was complete nonsense to him. "Uh, whatcha got there?"
