A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes. It had been a very rough day for Hadley. It started out with her waking up late and having to rush through her daily routine, this annoyed her greatly not to mention that she had missed breakfast. She crankily pushed through her classes till lunch, snapping at certain people along the way, She tripped walking down the stairs to the great hall and almost smacked someone for laughing, She also dropped her lunch all down her robes. At this point Hadley was fuming, she sighed and stormed out of the great hall making her way to her four poster bed her bad luck coming again as she tripped up the stairs.
When she arrived in her dormitory she threw her things down and flopped on her bed sighing very heavily. It was quiet all around her, she was the only one in the room. She was very thankful to be just laying here at the moment, she turned to her side and fell asleep. Her dream was interesting, one she has been having a few nights a week. It always starts off with her walking around the castle with no one there, she could not figure out where everyone had gone. She looked high and low for some sort of life form, she came to the conclusion she was the last one on earth. At first she was excited and ran off to do some of the things she had always wanted to do but never allowed. After awhile she became sad and lonely, she sat on the steps and tried to hold back some tears when she sees a figure coming toward her. She wakes up as soon as he comes close enough for her to make out the figures face. She did this just now, she sighed and got up looking in the mirror and heading back toward the great oak doors.
She was heading to one of her favorite spots, the courtyard. Or rather a bit away from the court yard under a nice big tree. She had the most recent book she was reading in her hand and felt slightly happier walking there. There were beautiful flowers all around her as she sat in her spot underneath the tree. She picked one up and smelled it, smiling at its sweet scent as she put the flower in her hair and opened her book. It was pretty interesting in it's self, though she was still a little groggy from her nap. She felt her head hang down to her chest as she dozed off.

Alex grinned widely. Today had started like any other day. He did a few dozen pushups and crunches on his bed, washed up, went to breakfast, and sat through his classes. Potions was particularly exciting, as they were fixing to begin studying some potions that the Ravenclaw had been waiting years to try, as the only way he could try them is if he stole many of the ingredients. Alex was obsessed with potionmaking, but he wasn't a thief.
However, one of his classmates seemed to be a bit cranky, snapping at him when he had greeted her after bumping into her. The young wizard had shrugged it off, attributing it to girl problems, and going about his day. Not the type to dwell on other people's opinions of him, it didn't really bother him. During his break, he saw the girl, Hadly was her name, go into the Girl's Dorm, looking none too happy.
"Hmm... poor girl must be having a terrible day," the young man muttered, reading over his copy of Advanced Potions. He shrugged, then went back to reading. After a while, Alex's eyes grew tired and his body grew stiff, so he put his book up on top his bed in the Dorms and decided to go for a walk. He went through the courtyard at a leisurely pace, not really thinking of anything. His mother had always told him to take breaks between his studies and give his brain a break, advice he usually went by.
So, it was to his surprise, that he walked by a tree and noticed Hadley sleeping while leaning against it. Surrounding the girl were many pretty flowers, and Alex smiled at the sight. It was rather cute.
However, sleeping outside was just asking for ant bites, rashes, colds, and, in her position, a stiff body. He figured it'd be an act of kindness to wake the girl up so she could get back to the common room. Reaching over, he bent down and gently nudged her shoulder, shaking her lightly.

Hadley had started to have the dream again, it had started to become an annoyance to her. She was walking around the school again, only this time she took off to a run looking all around. When she reached the point as to where she saw the figure she felt someone touching her and she awoke. She looked around confused as to who would be touching her. She saw Alex, she was shocked that he would be near her since they barley said three words to each other any other time. She shrugged and rubbed her slightly throbbing neck while she looked up at him. "Uhmm..Yes?" She said, she did not mean to sound rude but she was curious as to what he needed.
While she waited for his answer she started fixing her hair, wiping her eyes and her clothes and stood up. The boy still had a baby face look to him, it was a bit cute but then again it wasn't. Now of course they have crossed paths and probably talked before being in the same house and all, all the same Hadley could not remember when. She new his name so that was something, but other than that she drew a blank. She sighed and pushed her bangs out of her eyes, replacing her hands back down on her hips.

Alex took back his hand the instant she woke up, eyes bulged. He hadn't actually expected her to wake up, so he had been startled. He shook it off and rubbed the back of his head, smiling sheepishly.
"Oh, I was just waking you up. That position looked rather uncomfortable!"
Alex, despite his reputation as a cold, bookish, potions obsessed jerk (a title in which he had no idea how he got, because he was as nice to people as he could be), smiled warmly.
"I just noticed you being really tired and out of it today, so I figured it would be best if someone woke you up to go get actual sleep in the House, you know? Sorry..."

She smiled sweetly at the boy, how sweet of him. "Well thank you, that was very sweet. Would you care to join me?" she asked him scooting over a patting the spot right next to her. She had not really talked to anyone in a very long time and why pass up a chance to make friends, if he wanted to that is. She figured he would sit but maybe he was busy. She pulled her knees to her chest as she waited absentmindedly rocking froward and back on her bottom. She looked out beyond the flowers, oh how beautiful they were. She then remembered the flower she had stuck in her hair and felt to see if it was still there. It was she blushed slightly and took it out felling a little bit childish as she did so. She did not want people to think she was stupid by any means.
She took in a deep breath, letting the fresh air relax her, he was right she had been a bit on edge today. She sometimes forgot to relax and not let her troubles build up inside her, not to mention when she was hungry she was cranky. She had hoped she had not made anyone mad today by her snapping but she figured they didn't really know her or care that she snapped. She was not the type to be mean and most people new that.

Alex looked down at the girl, and shrugged, as he sat down beside her, leaning his back against the tree. The Ravenclaw male inhaled deeply, relaxing.
"I see why you fell asleep. This is actually a reaaaaaallly comfortable tree," he said, shifting around until he was as comfortable as possible. He casually looked at the flower she took out of her hair. That was actually depressing; it looked cute in her hair. The flowers themselves were very pretty, and Alex grinned. Nature was a wonderful thing; his love of greenery a trait that grew from his Herbology studies.
"These flowers are rather beautiful, no? They're called Twinflowers. They're really rare, but I think that highly magical places influence their growth."

She laughed, Yes it is isn't it, but don't fall asleep while I am here. she said shaking him jokingly. She felt better now that she was talking to someone. She raised her eyebrows, plants where not her best subject by any means but it was cool that he seemed to know some things about them. Yes they are very beautiful, and they smell delightful! Twinflowers eh? Well what an interesting fact sir. she replied smiling sweetly at him. She picked up another flower and smelled it, she then gave it him. She did not really care what he did with it she wasn't even sure why she handed it to him. She picked up anther one and put it in her hair then turned slightly so she could face him properly.
"So what brings you out here to my company?" she asked him. Though she was glad he was there she still wasn't sure why, it could not have been just to wake her up, that would be a long way to go just to do that. She squinted her eyes in a curious manner as she looked at him. People were such mysteries.

"I promise I won't fall asleep on you,"he said, laughing at her joke and getting shook a bit. It was nice to be with a friendly person. He nodded as she talked about the flowers.
"Alex. You can call me Alex. The Twinflower is a very rare plant, and is a sign of a particularly ancient woodland. I suppose to forbidden forest is the ancient woodland, no?" Alex excelled in Herbology almost as much as he did in his potions work, simply because the two studies were very intertwined. The greatest chefs use their own ingredients in the Muggle world, and potioneers were the same way. He had studied muggle plants as well, though to a much lesser extent, just in case he found a way to use them in a potion. The rarer flowers intrigued him.
Alex took the flower with a light blush, never actually receiving a flower from anyone before. He mostly held onto it, and with a mental shrug, he supposed he could try and interbreed it with some of the magical plants he had growing up in the dormitory. Secretly of course. He wasn't sure if the Ministry's Ban on Experimental Breeding extended to plant life.
He should probably look that information up before he ended up in a cell in Azkaban.
"Oh, I was reading in the commons a while back and my eyes began to get tired from strain, so I went for a walk to shake it off. When I came back towards the castle, I saw you asleep on the tree. I didn't want you to get a stiff neck or anything, like I said, so I stopped and figured you'd appreciate the thought. I apologize if I interrupted any good dreams," he said, smiling, having no idea she had actually been dreaming.
(OOC: I have no idea what twinflowers smell like, but they are very rare in the UK. lol i actually looked all that crap up.)

She nodded pretending that she knew what he was talking about. " Yes I suppose it is." Normally Ravenclaws were smart with everything, now Hadley was not stupid, she put her best effort in Transfiguration and Charms. Her worst subject was Herbology, which of course annoyed her greatly because she wanted to be good at every subject. She giggled slightly, Actually I am glad you woke me up from that dream, it is horrible! But I wouldn't want to bore you with the details." she said scratching the top her her forehead. She could not really find a reason that she was having this dream; she always believed that if you Had the same or similar dream more than once there was a reason for it. She thought maybe her mind was telling her that she would forever be alone? or maybe it was just because she felt alone.
She looked toward the Forbidden Forest, it looked tempting to go through and look around, however, Hadley was a good girl..most of the time. "Have you ever been in there?" she asked nodding her head in the direction of the forest.

The young man could kinda tell that she was clueless over the plants, and he wisely decided to shut up about them. He was trying to make more friends this year, for once, instead of being a loner. He was surprised that he actually had been right about her dreaming, but he could infer that it hadn't been all to pleasant for her, if she was thanking him for it. Not wanting to pry, he smiled.
"You're quite welcome, miss Hadley. I'm sorry your dreams were unpleasant."
She looked at the Forbidden Forest, and Alex looked along with her. Asked if he had been in there, he debated lying about it, but decided to tell the truth. Only after a joke, though. If one of the prank kings of Hogwarts agreed that he had a pretty good sense of humor, he was gonna use it.
"Of course. All the time. I go in an wrestle trolls, race with the centaurs, ride unicorns, you know, the usual. Hahaha. Nah, I venture towards the edge to get some of my rarer potions ingredients and that's about it. I don't get much further than where Care of Magical Creatures usually takes us. I'd rather not get attacked by...everything. Ya know?" the Ravenclaw student said, laughing.

She shrugged,"Oh well that is quite alright, it's more weird than anything." she replied. She was not really sure why she was having a dream like this; Maybe because she was feeling like she was alone all the time? Hadley was the kind of person to believe that if you had similar or repeated dreams that your sub-conscious is trying to tell you something. So what was it she was trying to be told? That she was going to end up forever alone? No certainly not she thought to herself. She laughed at his joke, she may believe things people said but she was not naive enough to not be able to figure out if someone was joking or not. Well, sounds like you have an action filled life; must be tiring. she said giggling slightly. She was picturing all of those things and picturing herself doing them very well.. it did seem like fun, although that would never happen.
She folded her hands into her lap and looked at the boy again, she just realized that even though he was in her house she did not really know him at all, not that everyone knew everyone. 'So why don't you tell me something about yourself?" she said smiling sweetly at him.

"Well, I am glad that they weren't all that bad. Dreams are powerful things, and can give us drive to realize our ambitions or stop us dead in our tracks," Alex said wisely.
His joke about the trips to the Forest went over quite well, with the female Ravenclaw giggling. Alex smiled. Humor really was the best way to make friends, it seemed, especially for him. Even if most of his jokes were lame, attempting humor still meant a person had a sense of humor, and therefore usually seemed more likable to another person.
Alex sighed mentally. He knew Ravenclaw's thing was supposed to be knowledge and logic and all, but damn, he really did look at things too logically.
Asked to say something about himself, Alex just shrugged.
"There's not much to tell. I'm an orphan, I was adopted at age 3, my dad's an American, my mom's a muggleborn witch. I have dog at home and I'm an only child. I have what has been called an unhealthy obsession with potions, and umm..."
He trailed off, unsure of what to say. He realized that he was starting to sell himself short, a habit he tended to have. Alex rather lacked self-confidence.
"I mean, I dunno what to tell you. Is there anything specific you would like to know, Miss Hadley?"
