She had already thought about what he was saying. She had tried to convince herself before that Dominique was just rebelling, just being a teenager like everyone else. But, the truth was that she wasn't. She was different, now. It wasn't just rebellion. At least, Toire didn't think so. She pursed her lips as she listened to his next words, watching his form relax as they stopped moving. She raised and eyebrow at him, then laughed.
"Alex, you are my friend."
She grinned sheepishly, feeling pink flush her cheeks. They grew warm. But the night air swiftly hit her cheeks properly so that it may have come across as a stinging of the breeze. Victoire gulped, then shrugged it off and linked his arm with her own. She smiled at him, nudging him slightly at the hip, then pulled him to start walking with her in the direction of the train. As they walked, she began to find themselves drifting deeper into a crowd of students. As they neared the train, the more students were gathered in front of them. It got to a point, though, were they seemed to be at a standstill.
"Oh gosh,"
she muttered under her breath, then inched forward. Toire didn't have patience for this. However, she'd have to wait regardless. She was sure that the crowd would move rather quickly, and they'd be swiftly into a compartment in no time at all. At least, she hoped. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Alex nearly let out an audible "hmm..." as he realized that there was a problem between the two Weasley girls. Something had gone wrong somewhere and they now disliked each other. For a moment, he wished he had his own sibling just so he could experience that and other things, but while it might sound selfish, he enjoyed being an only child. He didn't have any standards to meet or surpass sans his own. He hated the fact that someone suffered so, though. For a member of the usually cold Ravenclaw house, he felt sympathy for the girl he didn't understand.
In later years, he'd wondered if this was where he began to consider the girl a real friend.
"Alex, you are my friend."
The words...uttered so simply, and honest, nearly stopped his heart, and he realized just how friendless he had been all these years. He either was sought out for help or he provided it with studies, but no one had ever really wanted to befriend him like this. In a way, it was rather pathetic, but it was what it was.
Alex's embarrassed grin slowly rose on his lips, returning Victoire's own grin, and Alex's entire face was brightened in an instant.
"T-thank you, Miss Victoire. I...um...thank you. I'm glad you consider me such," Alex said, unsure of how to respond.
By this point, Alex was beginning to get used to getting dragged about by the blonde part Veela, but that didn't he expected it. So, he found himself surprised again as the girl began to drag him by the arm this time.
They soon found a massive blob of students, and Alex sighed.
Thankfully, Alex had more than enough patience for this kind of thing.

She put a hand on his shoulder and nodded, not wishing to make him any more nervous than he could have possibly just become. Instead, they turned and made their way toward the train, where they found the crowd.
The Gryffindor bit her lower lip and leaned her weight to her right side, waiting impatiently. She did not like waiting for things. Eventually, though, the crowd of students made its way onto the train, Toire and Alex included. Lucky for them, they found a compartment that had yet to be filled. She was sure that someone would eventually come along and steal their privacy away, but no mind that. She slid into the bench and waited for him to do the same, turning from him to look out of the window as she waited for his company to settle itself.
As she watched the students gather at the doors, Toire's eyes looked over them and instead focused on the backdrop of the scene unfolding. The moon sparkled in the darkness, grey clouds slipping over its bright glow. Stars could be seen subtly twinkling between the branches of overgrown trees, leaves blocking the view of most of the sky. Victoire's vision swept across the various shops that she had visited that day, memories flooding back to her, whether they be subconscious scenery that her mind had gathered or rather important, to her, occasions. She sighed, then looked back to Alexander and grinned. The day had been so brilliant, really. It had been much better than some of her Hogsmeade visits the previous year.
