Amalia was born a witch, but had lived as a muggle. Her parents were themselves raised by muggles, and it seemed as though that was a tradition in her family. Not that it bothered her, she got a bit of both cultures into her life. She's a proud witch, and a proud muggle, even though she's been quite a brilliant witch for a long time. The reason why her parents sent her off to live with Muggles for the first nine years of her life is so that she has a good amount of both cultures in her life; so she's not completely judgemental and rude.

When she first met her witch mother for the first time, she was surprised. Not only did her witch mother look almost exactly like her, she also acted a lot like her. Bright, bubbly, and open; it was entertaining to watch. They could finish each others sentences and they could finish each others thoughts; honestly, they were so much alike it was almost scary. The funny thing was, Amalia was ten when she met her mother and father for the first time.

When she went off to school she was nervous. With a willow wand and a phoenix feather core, she knew that she'd be insanely good at charms; a bendy wand like that. But she was worried about friends. She didn't know whether she would be accepted or not, and surprise, surprise, she was accepted. People loved the fact that she didn't care how she looked or acted. When she was with her muggle parents, she found out about hair-dye, and she dyed her hair now to a bright reddish-pink color to be different. That was Amalia, Italian and different.

Her Italian descent led her to attempt to find out more about her culture. Through that she learned how to speak Italian (yes, normally she speaks with an Italian accent) And she's also figured out how to be a fantastic chef. She loves cooking, always has, even when she was younger...

Being Italian and living in England is difficult, to say the least. She has always been made fun of for her stout body, and the fact that she's not the supermodel thin that people think is beautiful now-a-days. But, Lia being Lia, ignored her internal feelings, and became a stronger person because of it. She didn't let people judge her on her actions, and she most definitely didn't let people treat her any differently because of how she was. And that was the birth of brave Lia.

If you've got a second, Lia will strike up a conversation with you. A hefty conversationalist she is. Not that being herself bugs her, it may bug you though. She doesn't mind being laughed at, she'll normally join in on the joke. Brave, a little pompous, and energetic, she was the kind of girl that people love at a party, and she knew it...

Maybe that went to her head a little. Because every summer, she'd go down to London to visit her Muggle family. Sue and Kraig, their names were. But when she was down there, they'd let her get away with practically anything...including going to parties, getting drunk, smoking...things that no fourteen year old girl should get into... No thirteen year old girl either. But she did, and that also led to what has become Amalia.

Brave and not self conscious, she realized something was wrong when she received no Owls from Sue and Kraig. When she wrote them, no replies ever came. When she went to visit them, their house lie dormant, and loaded with squatters. She knew what happened instantly... They had sworn to her that if she ever got too out of control, they'd move and not tell her where they were moving to; apparently, she had. That was what made her change.

Now, sixteen year old Amalia is a little bit self-conscious, still as brave as ever, and doesn't like to listen to directions... But she's not a huge partier anymore, and she will be respectful when needed. Intelligent at her best, quick minded and quick lipped. She is Amalia Rose Mancini.
