Mason James Montague, who goes only by Mace, was raised in what you might call a cliche pureblood home. His parents did nothing to hide their hatred for muggles and muggle borns. Growing up in a home where you are only taught to despise them, it rubs off on you. Especially when your parents make it very clear at a young age that you are to never speak or even acknowledge a muggle, that muggle borns can never be your friends.

When Mace was six, he went through a phase where he would sneak away from home to the river near town. It was like an adventure, he didn't know better. One day he meant a young girl, she looked about his age, he didn't know children his age. Excited, he quickly began to play with the young girl, splashing from the river and playing tag.

His father had gone to look for him, only to discover his only child playing with a muggle. It was infuriating, disgusting to see his son play with such a thing. He knew he would have to teach his son a lesson, pulling Mace to the side, he forced his six year old son to watch him use the cruciatus on the young muggle girl. Forced him to listen to her screams, until finally with a bright green light, he silenced her forever.

This is why Mace joined the Wicked Wands, his parents may not order him around like he is a child, but he still follows their wishes. Truthfully, Mace doesn't have his own opinions on muggleborns, he has his parents opinions.

Mace isn't a nice guy, he is manipulative and sarcastic. He finds most people, pureblood or not, to be boring and unintelligent. He has a high few of himself, few people are good enough in his eyes. He is more of a loner, but its by choice.
