IT WAS A VERY SAD DAY FOR MISS EMILYA. SHE HAD AWOKEN IN THE ORPHANAGE AND LOOKED OVER TO HER CAT, WHO WAS LAYING ON THE FLOOR STILL. SHE STOOD AND WENT OVER, AND BENT DOWN TO PET MELVIN. HE WAS HARD. EM RAN FROM HER ROOM AND REPORTED IT TO ONE OF THE KEEPERS, WHO FOLLOWED HER UPSTAIRS THEN TOOK THE CAT AWAY IN A GARBAGE BAG. EMILYA THREW HERSELF ONTO HER BED AND CRIED, BURYING HER HEAD INTO HER PILLOW. BEING AN ORPHAN, SHE DIDN'T HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN HER LIFE SHE COULD DEPEND ON COMPLETELY. MELVIN HAD BEEN ONE OF THE FEW.

EMMY SIGHED THEN STOOD UP, AND LEFT THE ORPHANGE QUICKLY. SHE HAD ALREADY BEEN SLEEPING IN JEANS AND A WHITE V-NECK, DECIDING SHE'D JUST WEAR THAT THE REST OF THE DAY. SHE FIXED HER HAIR ON THE WAY TO DIAGON ALLEY. EMILYA COULDN'T BE ALONE, SHE REFUSED. INSTEAD, SHE DECIDED THAT IT WAS TIME FOR A NEW PET. SHE WASN'T GOING BACK TO HOGWARTS ALONE. UPON DEFINING THAT AS HER MISSION, SHE FINALLY GOT TO THE MUGGLE END OF DIAGON ALLEY. EM TOOK THE PASSAGE INTO THE ALLEY, THEN MADE HER WAY TO GRINGOTT'S.

THE WIZARDING BANK WAS QUITE BUSY THAT DAY. SHE ASSUMED IT WAS BECAUSE HOGWARTS WOULD BE OPENING ITS DOORS SOON, AND STUDENTS WERE THERE WITH THEIR FAMILIES. EMILYA WAITED PATIENTLY IN LINE, THEN WITHDREW A DECENT AMOUNT OF MONEY TO TAKE WITH HER. SHE LEFT HURRIEDLY THROUGH THE CROWD, THEN MADE HER WAY TO MAGICAL MENAGERIE. IT WAS WHERE SHE HAD BOUGHT MELVIN WHEN HE WAS JUST A KITTEN. SHE DECIDED THAT SINCE THE STORE HAD PROVIDED HER SUCH A GREAT PET THE FIRST TIME, MAYBE THEY COULD DO IT A SECOND.

EMILYA ENTERED THE SHOP AND BEGAN LOOKING AROUND, AVOIDING THE CATS. SHE DIDN'T WANT TO GET ANOTHER CAT. IT WAS TOO SOON FOR THAT. SHE SIMPLY NEEDED ANOTHER FRIEND, THOUGH NOT SURE WHAT KIND. IT COULDN'T BE A RAT, THAT WAS FOR SURE. POSSIBLY AN OWL? SHE MOVED TOWARDS THE OWLS, WHO WERE, FOR THE MOST PART, PRETTY QUIET. SHE WAS STILL DEVASTATED FROM MELVIN'S DEATH, BUT COULDN'T BE ALONE. SHE REFUSED.

Jason wore his new cloak, it was dark green and black. There were silver stripes on it, his shirt was grey also and his bottom was black as usual. It was his favorite bottom and the dark colored jeans. Jason got new converse, it was black too. Those shoes were a present though. Jason was walking down to the Diagon Alley, he visited the Knockturn Alley but he finished his work in there. His eyes were wandering at the wands store, he passed by there. Jason saw a girl walking into the pet shop, she seemed quiet quite lost in thoughts. He watched her, Jason had seen that girl at Hogwarts. Her name was Emilya, he heard for once from other people. They didn’t meet before, he wouldn’t want to be seen with people from other houses though. It just made things get harder for him, he knew she was a Ravenclaw. Plus he heard that she was an orphan.

Jason sighed and kept walking, he stopped by the pet shop, Magical Menagerie. He walked into the shop, he was looking at the owls. He remembered the first time he walked into that shop, the first time he walked through the street. It was like just yesterday he came there. Jason smirked at one of the owls which looked like his owl. His owl was an ordinary one, it was brown. But he liked his owl, at least his owl knew where to fly when Jason told him. Then Jason’s eyes turned to the girl again, his eyes were watching her. He tried his best not get caught by her, he shrugged. Jason didn’t say any word. You should buy an ordinary one, white ones would be noticed so easily he thought to himself. He put his hands into his pockets, he felts his warm in his right pocket.

Jason leant his left side to the wall and looked outside the window. I should visit Flourish and Blotts. At least I’m done with Borgin and Burkes. And then I should visit Ollivanders, maybe a new wand? Well I don’t think so, they must be expensive and I don’t have enough money. Meh whatever he thought to himself as watching outside the window. Then his eyes turned to girl as she moved again, he raised an eyebrow. ”You should not buy the white ones.” he said with a cold tone, there was no emotion on his face. Well it was who he became into when he was in Diagon Alley because there were too many students from Hogwarts that he really disliked. He just didn’t like seeing them around.

EM WAS SLIGHTLY DISTRAUGHT FROM THE IDEA OF NOT HAVING MELVIN AROUND. HE'D BEEN SO FAITHFUL AND LOVING. NOT TO MENTION, SHE HAD NEVER REALLY BEEN A FAN OF CATS. BUT, MELVIN WAS DIFFERENT. WHEN SHE'D LOOKED INTO HIS EYES AT MAGICAL MENAGERIE SIX YEARS AGO, SHE KNEW HE WOULD BE THERE FOR HER IN TIMES OF TROUBLE. SHE HAD NO IDEA WHY HE'D SUDDENLY PASSED ON. EMILYA WAS CERTAIN THAT SOMEONE AT THE ORPHANAGE HAD PERFORMED A HORRIBLE ACT TO MELVIN, OTHERWISE HE'D STILL BE WITH HER.

REFLECTING ON THE PAST WITH MELVIN WOULD ONLY MAKE IT HARDER TO FIND A NEW FRIEND. EMMY SIGHED AND NOTED THAT ANOTHER BODY HAD MOVED INTO THE MIDST OF THE SHOP, SLIGHTLY HOVERING IN THE SPACE WHERE SHE RESIDED. SHE GLANCED OVER AT HIM AND GULPED. SHE KNEW HIM FROM HOGWARTS. JASON WAS A VERY HANDSOME PERSON, BUT HE WAS ALSO VERY COLD AND MEAN, SO SHE HEARD. WHILE SHE KNEW THAT SHE HERSELF WASN'T ALL THAT GREAT OF A PERSON, SHE DIDN'T LIKE TO ENCOUNTER THOSE WHO MADE HER FEEL ANYMORE WORSE ABOUT HER POSITION, APPEARANCE, AND, WELL, OVERALL LIFESTYLE. SHE HOPED HE WOULD CONFRONT HER WITH ANYTHING, BUT HE DID.

AND IT WASN'T AS BAD AS SHE'D THOUGHT.

SHE TURNED AND TILTED HER HEAD SLIGHTLY, HER DARK LOCKS FOLLOWING HER MOVEMENT. "OH? AND WHY NOT?" SHE ASKED SOFTLY, HER EYES PINNED ON HIM. EMILYA LOOKED HIM UP AND DOWN, THEN BIT HER LOWER LIP. WOW, WAS HE GORGEOUS OR WHAT. SHE SHOOK OFF THE ADMIRATION FOR HIS APPEARANCE AND LOOKED UP INTO HIS FACE. HIS FEATURES SHOWED NO SIGN OF COMPANIONSHIP OR WARMTH, EMULATING THE PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS SHE HAD ABOUT HIM. IT SEEMED THAT HER FRIENDS WERE CORRECT IN STATING HOW COLD HE APPEARED. SHE WONDERED, REALLY, IF THAT WAS HIS TRUE POSITION ON LIFE. WAS HE REALLY SO EMOTIONLESS, OR WAS IT A FACADE? EM STOOD THERE, WAITING, LISTENING TO THE CRIES OF THE BIRDS BEHIND THEM. MAYBE THEY, TOO, FELT AS SHE.

Jason looked at the cats meowing over there, he never thought of getting a cat as pet. Jason couldn’t say that he loved cats but he couldn’t say that he disliked them either. He really liked his owl, nothing special about him though. Dark brown feathers, dark yellow eyes and there was kind of a circle line surrounded its face, it was black line. Sometimes its eyes turned into different color though. Anyway he could remember the first time he ran into that store, he saw Twinkie. Yes, Jason named his owl Twinkie. It was funny but Twinkie reminded him of his childhood. There was a girl who was his childhood friend and now she was at Hogwarts too but they didn’t get to see each other much. Anyway her dog’s name was Twinkie and her dog really liked Jason. But one day her dog died because of a disease, that day he promised himself to name his pet Twinkie.

Anyway his eyes were still looking at the cats then the girl talked. Her tone was soft, he was a bit surprised because she always looked cold at Hogwarts. Jason didn’t change his position, he didn’t put on any smile or something when she talked. He caught her eyes looking at himself up and down, he raised an eyebrow with the cold look in his eyes. Jason just sighed and pushed himself a little bit to walk to the owls. He picked an ordinary brown owl and answered as not looking at the girl. ”It’s because if you get this white one, people will see it in the sky easily and understand that it belongs to you in no time.” Jason said, his tone was okay. It was as cold as the last time he spoke. He was still looking at the brown one, he pointed him. ”Many owls are brown, they look ordinary and people don’t understand which one belongs to whom.” Jason added.

He didn’t like looking at people in the eye, he didn’t like standing so close to them. That was why he was trying to be stand a bit away from the girl. He didn’t care what she was thinking or what she was doing exactly. Jason wasn’t that type who liked to help others but he knew a couple things about that girl. He just didn’t mean to be too rude to her, she didn’t deserve to be acted rude. Well did the others deserve? Many of them really deserved that. Jason sighed once again and turned to the girl slightly. ”If I were you, I would get brown one which I did get though. Anyway.” he said.
