Valerie absolutely hated reading and classwork, it was such a waste of her time to be in school, she was talented enough to take care of herself without having to worry about classes and exams, which was why she didn’t bother trying very often. Not to mention last year she had always been able to convince someone to just about all the work for her, pretending like she had just needed help. It was rather amazing how easily people would help you, that was the problem with being kind hearted, you got used quiet often, she was sure half of them still didn’t notice that she was using them. It wasn’t her fault they were all so naïve and easy to manipulate, she hardly had to try at all, a little flirting or a bit of pouting. Sometimes she had to actually be nice to people, which was a little annoying, but if it got her what she needed she would do it.
In some ways, it might be easier to just do the work herself rather than continue on an act, but it was a lot more fun to pretend and know you could have so much control over people. The things she could get some of them to do, it sent excitement through her, the control she had. It was a bit twisted, using people so much, especially when she would play the ‘sweet innocent’ act on those nice boys, flirting and a few snog sessions could go a long way. Some people saw such acts as a lack of respect for herself, but Valerie loved herself, she loved herself a bit too much, leaving her to be conceded and selfish. She was a spoiled brat who loved to have everything her way and was rather good at manipulation, she often wondered why she was in Ravenclaw versus Slytherin, then again what she did also involved being intelligent, and the sorting hat had debated for nearly a minute between the two.
Running her fingers along the spines of the books, Valerie read the names, in search of her necessary potions book for her seventh year. It was going to be an interesting one, her final year, she was determined to make it her best yet. Especially to make up for her rather depressing first two years, back before she realized others wouldn’t do as she pleased when she acted like her usual self. She was use to getting everything she wanted in life, so that’s how she had expected things to be at Hogwarts, but turns out she had to work for what she wanted, meaning she had to trick people into giving things to her. Of course, to most people that would mean working hard for your grades and such, but she wasn’t like most people, her way of thinking was definitely a bit twisted.

Like a lot of students at Hogwarts, Dahlia had classes she liked and some she didn't care for. The students that were exceptions to this were Ravenclaws. Most of them enjoyed learning altogether, so they pretty much cared for each and every class they took. That was the stereotype at least, and a lot of them proved it true. Of course, some people were sorted into the wrong house for their personality, so some of the students in Ravenclaw could very well be slackers, or they just didn't care. Dahlia however, wasn't one to enjoy the learning process of every class, but she did like making good grades and hearing praise from her family. Therefore, she did what she could to keep her grades as high as possible. Some of the classes though, earned her attention more than others, so some of her grades were higher in certain classes than they were in others. It made perfect sense. Wasn't everyone like that? Even those that liked learning as a whole?
In terms of those that were sorted into the wrong house, Dahlia happened to be one of them as well. Well, on the outside, she was. Maybe if she had begged the hat, she would be in Slytherin, instead of Gryffindor, but no, she was in that house and she couldn't change it. See, Dahlia was pretty fake. She pretended to be cruel when all she wanted to do was help people. She had always been this way due to the fact she didn't want to lose her friends. All of her friends loved to tease people and put their feelings down. To fit in, she did the same. Was it right? No, but it was what she felt she had to do. If she came out as a nice girl, she would lose a lot of respect from her friends and her family. The people around her wouldn't see her the same either. She was pretty much at the top of the food chain, and she didn't want to lose that.
Entering the store, she looked around for a moment before catching a glimpse of a girl. This girl was someone she didn't know personally, but she had seen around Hogwarts. She believed the girl to be a seventh year and a Ravenclaw at that. There was something about the girl that struck her as odd though. She couldn't place it, but there was this bad vibe that she got from her. A smirk played on her lips as she started to make her way toward the girl. That facade, yeah, it was taking over now. As Dahlia passed the girl, she purposely bumped their shoulders together and then stopped, turning to the girl. "Oh, I am so sorry." She said sarcastically, the same smirk still on her lips. "Maybe, you should learn to stay out of the way, dear." She couldn't help but chuckle, before turning from the girl and heading over to another shelf full of books. If the girl were to say anything back to her, things might get interesting.

Her personality might not fit into her house, she was lazy and found school to be a waste of time, she didn’t have many goals in her life other than to marry a rich man who would spoil her with his money. In her mind, it was a good one, she wouldn’t have to work and even the husband got a good deal, he got to marry her. Truthfully though, Valerie had the potential to be very smart, to do great things, despite not caring about her classes she actually knew a lot just from hearing teachers mention things. Her memory was fantastic, but she didn’t bother using it for silly things like school. The intelligence was there, her spoiled personality just kept her back from the person she could have been.
As she slid her new book off the shelf, turning to head toward the next aisle, someone slammed right against her shoulder. Val gasped, her mouth opened in surprise, that had clearly been no accident, there was room for three people to easily walk by her without touching. When the girl had the nerve not only to speak to her afterward, but to blame her, it really got her temper flowing. Narrowing her eyes, one of her evil smirks that she kept held back found its way to her lips. One of her hands rest on her hip and she turned to face the girl who had bumped into her, raising an eyebrow at her.
Valerie had seen her around Hogwarts, she hung out with Slytherins but she was in Gryffindor, that’s what had stuck out to her. Sometimes she toyed with the idea of making friends with Slytherin, but she didn’t have the same goals as most people in that house either, her only goals were to please herself and making friends at all just didn’t fit. Having friends meant sacrificing for them and caring about them, she would only ever do those things for herself, friends would only take away her efforts to make herself happy. Even as a child, she had played with her dolls and when her father would invite a little girl over as a playmate, she stuck to just bossing the girl around and refusing to let her do anything she wanted, most of the girls didn’t come over again, some even left crying. Regardless, her father assured her they were just upset because she had all the best toys and was so loved.
When the girl turned away and began looking through books, Valerie took a few steps to begin closing the gap between them. “Clearly you don’t realize who you’re messing with,” she said, her eyes still narrowed, hand on her hip, attitude was something she did not lack one bit. “I destroy little girls like you.” While it may lack detail, she truly meant it, if someone was going to mess with her she would completely ruin their lives. Her smirk still on her lips, she crossed her arms in front of her, her eyes glanced up and down at the girl, before retuning to her’s with her next suggestion, ”Run on off to your little Gryffindor buddies, or Slimball Slytherins, whoever you prefer these days, and stop trying to play with the big girls cause you will get hurt.”

Dahlia was expecting the girl to say something back to her, but she was not prepared for the words that the girl used. So, she looked sweet and acted sweet as well, but underneath it all, she had a nasty personality? How interesting. It was pretty much like herself, but reversed. This girl pranced around Hogwarts, acting like a saint. That's what Dahlia had seen. Everytime she had seen the girl, she just seemed like a nice person who would do nothing to hurt someone. She looked like someone who couldn't even hurt a fly. Well, she just proved that theory wrong and proved looks can be decieving to be right. Of course, Dahlia did that herself, but no one had found her out yet. Only a couple of people who truly deserved it. Fred Weasley, her best friend who unfortunately no one could know about right now. His sister Roxanne, because she needed her trust to even be close to Fred. And then there was Greg, Fred's interpreter, because he was helping her learn sign language so she could surprise Fred and communicate with him. These three people, were the only ones to know her for who she was, and she wasn't blowing it anytime soon.
Spinning around, she let a smirk come to her lips. Those who knew Dahlia, knew she really couldn't hurt anyone without feeling guilty, unless they were deserving of it. At first, Dahlia felt like she might have regretted doing what she had to the girl, but now, she didn't. Not with the foul words the girl had spoken. Sure, she didn't curse or anything like that, but she was still threatening her. Therefore, Dahlia would not let this get to her. She would not feel bad if she tried to break this girl today and succeeded. Most would also think that those who are only pretending are not capable of being as mean as those who have it for a true personality trait. Well, they were mistaken. If Dahlia was fired up enough, she could be quite cruel.
Moving forward as to close even more of the gap, she looked the girl straight in the eyes, crossing her arms over her chest. "So, I see the sweet Ravenclaw girl has let the snake out of the cage? Were you not placed in the right house dearie?" Pushing past the girl she moved over to another shelf and started looking through the books. "By the way, I highly doubt you could do anything to me. You think you're tough. You're nothing but a fake. Trust me, I would know. If this secret side of you came out, you'd be the one destroyed. Not me." As she said this, she never once looked at the girl. She just continued to skim the books. But anyone could tell she was as serious as anyone could be. There was no smirk, not even a smile. Just a blank face, to hide her emotions. She knew something was up with this girl from the beginning. All the time, she had that bad vibe from her. She never thought twice about it though, when she would see her at school, because she thought that it was just another person, but her gut told her right. This girl was a bitch in disguise. "So, do you want to keep threatening me, or are you going to be smart and give it up?" Honestly, she had no clue how she felt. She wasn't sure whether she should be scared, or fine with the threat. Of course, no one liked to be threatened, but was the girl just bluffing? Either way, she'd find her way out of this mess. She always did.

Valerie had never been one to back down, no one intimidated her or kept her from what she wanted. Which was why she usually played the sweet girl card, but with no one of interest around and someone being a stuck up bitch, there was no reason to hold herself back. The snake comment didn’t phase her one bit, staring the girl down as she moved up close to her. ”Didn’t realize there was a rule where everyone in Ravenclaw had to be an angel,” she said sarcastically, in ways she was truly a Ravenclaw, she thought all of her actions through and was rather observant. If she hadn’t been spoiled her whole life, she would probably fit in perfectly, maybe find herself enjoying her classes, instead she thought they were a bore. Ultimately she was intelligent, just rather lazy and lacking the drive that her housemates seemed to all have, this was mostly because of the way she was brought up.
When the girl pushed past her again, Val rolled her eyes, turning slightly to keep watching the other. Her threats were humorous, causing an amused smirk to cross her lips. ”What makes you think its not just girls like you that bring out my bad side,” she pointed out with a simple shrug, of course it was pretty much everyone who brought out her ‘bad side,’ but she was making the point of this Crabbe girl knowing nothing about Val. ”Not to mention, who would listen to you? Everyone hates you, except for your little Slytherin buddies, but even they must have toyed with the idea of dropping your friendship, being sorted into their rival house and all,” she added, dropping her arms and resting one hand on her waist, her hip popping out a little as she put her weight mainly on one foot. It had always interested her to know this girl was a Gryffindor, having such a terrible personality, talk about not fitting into your house. Then again, there were always reasons behind the sorting, Valerie knew in some ways she fit into her house, so in some ways this girl must fit into hers, and being brave and loyal weren’t Slytherin qualities.
At some points over the years, Valerie had wished she had been sorted differently, back in her first year everyone in her house thought of her as a brat. Over time though, she realized she wouldn’t have done so well in the other house, because everyone there was cocky and never would have bended to her every whim. It was as if most Slytherin’s expected others to do everything for them, meaning they never did anything for one another. With out others to do everything for her, Val would have a rather boring time at school, getting everything she wanted from unsuspecting students was the high light of her time in school.
”Your family must have been so disappointed in your sorting.” She was guessing this was a soft spot for the girl, while she had maintained her friends, they had to be wondering why she was sorted into that house, wondering how she was different from them. Even if they weren’t, Valerie was far from scared of this girl, no one walked all over her, no one threatened her. She could try as hard as she wanted, but Val’s life would be little effected by her pathetic attempts. She was beyond confident in herself, she viewed herself as above everyone, everyone should strive to reach her perfection. Honestly, in her opinion this girl should be taking lessons, her threats were weak and unrealistic, because no one would care to hear that Val had stood up to her, everyone knew how rude she was and would probably look up to Valerie for standing up to the girl.
