the house belonging to the potter family was lit up, each light gleaming against the darkness of the moonless night. the band was playing, there were decorations everywhere, and the potter/weasley children were waiting for their party guests to arrive. snacks were set out, the important rooms upstairs were locked, and the door was open, the house elf standing in the doorway, ready to greet the guests.
"Why don't you come on in?"

the house belonging to his godfather had been buzzing with activity all day. they were getting ready for the party they were throwing, what uncle ron had named the 'end of summer extravaganza'. they had extended the invitations for the party to everyone at hogwarts that was fourth year and above, simply because they wanted every potter/weasley kid to have friends there. it wasn't like the house wasn't big enough, it was practically a mansion. teddy, who only stayed there for a few days during christmas and the weekends in summer, had his own room. as did the entire family. even the ones that rarely visited, like charlie. teddy had only met charlie twice, at christmas. most of the time, he was gone, travelling the world. he worked with dragons, which was totally awesome. maybe if he couldn't be a professional quidditch player, he would go train and breed dragons. it would be a good career choice, if for some reason he aqnd victoire never got together. if they had, he would never leave her to go pursue that job.
teddy had arrived at the potter house in the afternoon, and already his cousins had been running around everywhere, decorating, cooking, making sure everything valuable was hidden where it wouldn't be broken. harry knew what partying teenagers were like. he was surprised that his godfather was even throwing this. it was really nice to him, inviting everyone. even the slytherins. although most of them wouldn't come. the slytherins were only invited for albus, anyway.
now, he was sitting in the living room, waiting for guests to arrive. [/blockquote]

Roxanne was a bit late, but she was always a bit late, so that wasn't unusual in the slightest. It helped a bit that being late to this party still meant being early-- she had planned on coming far earlier than the regular guests to help set up and whatnot, so she was pleased that she'd managed to get herself together quickly enough to still make that happen. Late for being early, sure, but sometimes you just had to count your small victories.
Roxy LOVED seeing her family; being a Weasley, she valued family above all other things, and she would do anything if one of the Potters or Weasleys needed help. Get-togethers like these were a chance for them to all catch up and hang out like they did when they were all younger and had less responsibilities and places to be. There, in the Potter household, she was in her happy place. It wasn't like Roxy to be anyone but herself, but especially around family, she could just cut loose and be comfortable, because here, no one was going to judge her.
After spending far more time in the kitchen than she was ever particularly fond of spending, Roxy exploded into the living room with a tray full of cupcakes. These weren't just any cupcakes, though; the fifth year wasn't exactly a baker or a cook by any means. She was, however, a skilled crafter of fun and entertainment; these were her personal favorite recipe: exploding cupcakes. Deceivingly just a delicious treat until one reached the filling in the center-- Roxy had a feeling she'd be cleaning up plenty of frosting from the furniture tonight, but it was definitely worth it to see her favorite cousins with iced faces.
"I made goooodieeees!" she sang, a huge grin on her face, setting the tray down on the coffee table.

James stood next to the snacks nibbling watching people enter the house. He loved eating his mums food, she was an excellent cook. James knew the family and others would be surprised he never had a date with him tonight, but he decided against it since it was a family thing.
He looked over and noticed two people had arrived. He straightend the tie his mother was making him wear with his black suit. He cleared his throat and shouted over once he noticed who it was. " Hey Roxanne , Hey Teddy" He said with a smile. He liked Roxanne, her and James got on rather well. He was also friends with Teddy despite being annoyed he was quidditch captain and James was not.
James picked up his glass of pumkin juice and took a sip watching the two. He ate some food and then walked over the door. He looked out over the garden to see if anyone was coming. He looked down at the house elf laughing at the thought of the house ef trying to stop gate crashers. He ate a sandwich in his hand and made his way back into the house. He pointed his wand at his empty glass and it filled up with more pumkin juice.

Post by JAYSON ANTHONY ABERCROMBIE on Aug 4, 2011 20:53:45 GMT -5
Jayson ran a hand through his hair, walking up the pathway toward the Potter house. He knew the Potter family well, since Teddy spent a lot of his time here and sometimes Jay would visit his friend. As he approached the beautifully lit house, he gave a nod and smile to the house elf who answered the door, stepping inside and following the house elf's direction toward the living room where he found Teddy, James and Roxanne.
"Hey," he greeted, giving a smile and nod to the small group. He wasn't particularly close to either of the other two, but he knew who they were at least. "I feel like I'm a bit early?" he asked, noticing that so far it seemed to just be the family, he didn't mind though, he was comfortable with the Potters having been best friends with Teddy for seven years.
Moving to take a seat next to his friend, Jayson reached out to pluck one of the cupcakes off the platter. "So did you guys have a busy day? The house looks great," he said, peeling the paper off the bottom of the cupcake before taking a big bite. With a bang, he stared open mouthed, frosting splattered all over himself.
Being one to pull pranks, you'd think he'd notice when one was being executed. Not to mention he should learn to just expect such things from his best friend, whom he assumed was behind this cupcake fiasco. Jay licked his lips, before turning to Teddy, an accusing look on his face, unaware that it was Roxanne who had just brought them in, of course he knew she was a prankster too, but his initial reaction went to his best friend. "I'm so getting you back," he muttered.

James Looked over and noticed Jayson enter the house. He was friendly with Jayson but they never have been close friends. He seen him alot with Ted and saw him around school and in the Gryffindor common room. James was never in the common room much he was to busy chasing girls. He took another drink from table and took a sip.
"Jasyon, Hey" he said moving closer to the group making himself more known. He looked over the house elf and smiled. He always thought they looked funny. He remembered his dads storys about one called Dobbie. He sipped his drink smiling at the guys watching Jayson eat the cupcakes. He decided he wanted one and took one and began to eat. " Yes my mum has been running around like a headless chicken all day!" He looked around wondering where she was now.
His mum was always cleaning or cooking. His dad was a little more laid back. James had a great relationship with both his parents. He was just like his father in many ways and had bits of his mum in him. On thing he did have was the Weasley sense of humour. Compared to his brother Albus and Sister Lily he was the more loud and out spoken sibling.
He finshed his cupcake and placed the paper in the bin and walked around a little sipping on his pumkin juice. He looked at the crums on the ground where he had been eating, he quickly pointed his wand at them. They vanished and he took a sigh of relief. He knew his mother would go mad if she seen them.

Post by LYSANDER JULIAN SCAMANDER on Aug 4, 2011 21:25:04 GMT -5
lysander had been waiting for this party since his invitation had arrived in the mail a week ago. he hadn't done much this summer, and it gave him an excuse to get out of the house and see some of his friends. he had been told that almost the entire school had been invited, which was rather exciting. there was surely going to be some dancing and good food, not to mention the potter house was gorgeous. he had been there quite a few times, due to his mother being very close friends with ginny potter. there had been a lot of get togethers when he was growing up, the potter kids, the weasley gang, the longbottoms and him and lorcan. most of the time, teddy lupin had joined them as well.
lysander was dressed fairly conservatively, a white shirt and a nicer pair of jeans. it felt odd, not wearing his wizard robes, but he had been told that most people would probably arrive muggle clothes so he didn't want to stand out. apparently, the fact that he wore his robes in the summer was odd. he hadn't been aware.
he smiled politely at the house elf who greeted him, giving a small wave. the elf recognized him and nodded to him as well, ushering him in a way that made ly think that they had spent some time telling him exactly what to do. there didn't seem to be many people there, although the place was decorated and music was playing, so he made his way into the living room. some people were there, mostly the potter/weasley family, but there were a few others. "it's okay, i've arrived. the party may now begin." [/blockquote]

Jason needed something to do, he desperately needed to get to do something. He was still shaken up, majorly. He was happy when he remembered the party, he wasn't sure if he was going to go but he decided he had to now. When he got near the potter house, walking up the path he couldn't believe how huge it was. He heard the word "Wow...." slip out of his mouth. Walking closer to the house he saw the house elf. He assumed that it was treated nicely, hopefully at least.
He smiled at the house elf when it told him to come in. "Thank you." He answered its offer walking inside. He got there just in time to hear Lysander. He recognized him patting him on the back. "Good, your not late. I was afraid we would have to wait." Smiling he picked up one of the cupcakes using his finger to only eat the icing realizing Jayson had icing all over him. He seemed to have blamed teddy for it.
"Teddy catch!" He said tossing the cupcake that now had no frosting on it towards him, hoping it exploded as he caught it. If he caught it that was. Looking around, he saw Roxanne and thought maybe Jayson made the wrong accusation raising an eyebrow at her. Looking back to the group he changed his hair and eye color to match Lysander. Just messing around, wondering if he would realize.
He wondered where Jame's date was, already have decided he would have one. When he thought about it for a second and he realized he didn't he was actually surprised. Maybe that would keep James off the subject of Jason's love life so he didn't have to talk about his girlfriend dying. He shook his head, telling himself No. Today is a day to have fun and be care free, not think about depressing stuff.

James lookd around and noticed his friend Jason had arrived. He took a glass of pumkin juice and walked over to him. He handed him the glass. " Hey Jason, Some pumpkin juice?" He said with a smile. He noticed Jason did seem a little distant then usuall. He had not seen Jason for a few weeks, James had been busy. " You Okay dude?" He said in a concerned voice.
James looked around looking for more people arriving. He took a sip of his pumkin juice. He looked at Teddy and smiled. James was still jelious that he was captain and James wasn't. James had been trying for so long to become quidditch captain. He sipped his drink and looked over at Lysander, " Oh Hey Lysander, never saw you come in" He said with a smile, James liked Lysander. He had known him a long time growing up also. He loved talking to his mum Luna. James thought Luna was funny and was a lovely person. James looked around and wondered where his brother Albus and Sister Rose were.

it didn't surprise teddy that the first person to arrive was roxanne. she was supposed to be there earlier with the rest of the family, to help set up and such, but that girl really was not good with time. he was surprised she actually beat the guests, that was good for her. he hadn't known she could bake though, she never seemed like that type of person. he eyed the cupcakes with suspicion, after all, it was the daughter of the owner of weasley wizard wheezes they were dealing with here. she could have easily done something to the cupcakes. the only question was, what? "hey roxy." he said, just as james entered the room. "oh, and hey james."
this party really needed to get started. hanging out with the family was cool and all, but he had been doing that all summer. he wanted to see his friends. so teddy was extremely relieved when jayson entered, the first non-family guest. "just a bit" he replied to the comment on being early. jay was actually right on time, it was everyone else that was late, not him being early. jayson was reaching for one of the cupcakes, and teddy considered warning him about the possible dangers they may have. but he didn't, for two reasons. the first was that he could just be overreacting, and roxanne had taken a sudden interest in baked goods. and the second, was that he was interested to see what exactly she had done.
it was impossible to hold back the laughter that came when jay was suddenly covered in icing from the exploding cupcake. if only he had thought of that one, it was brilliant. he grinned when he was accused, because he was flattered that his friend believed he had come up with the amazing prank. but he wasn't going to take credit for it. "an exploding cupcake, brought to you by the one and only, miss roxanne weasley. give us a bow!"
"a bit conceited there, aren't you scamander?" he said as lysander entered. then he nodded to jason who followed, totally not ready for the cupcake that was flying towards him until it had already exploded in his face, covering it with cake, as all the icing was on jay's face. "well then, it looks like we match, mate" he said to his best friend, scraping some of the icing off of the other gryffindors face with his finger and tasting it. "not bad frosting though roxy. these would be tasty if they didn't explode." [/blockquote]

When Teddy directed the guilt to Roxanne, he looked over at her with a raised eyebrow, before giving her a grin, rather impressed by her creativity. He had not been expected such a thing at all, and he thought of himself as a rather creative prankster. Then again, her father was rather famous for his amazing jokes and pranks. When more people entered, Jay gave them a wave, feeling rather silly with frosting all over his face, but he could rock any look. At Lysander’s comment, he narrowed his eyes, that was his line. With another explosion, Jayson looked over to see his best friend now also covered in frosting, shooting Jason a grin and nod. ”Nice one,” he said with amusement.
”We’re starting new trends,” he added with a laugh, watching Teddy taste the frosting from his face. He looked over at Roxanne, shaking his head. ”That was only good cause it came off me,” he teased, as if he made the frosting amazing by it being on his body. Reaching a hand up, Jay wiped his face a bit, although there was no way to get it all off without a rag or something. With his hand now full of frosting, Jayson casually got up, before quickly reaching over and smearing it across Roxy’s cheek. ”Just helping you fit in, its going to be the new style for the party,” he joked, just wanting to return the favor of frosting and cupcake all over.
With so much happening within the first few minutes of this party, Jay was certain it would be a hit. Then again, there were going to be awesome people attending, such as himself. He wondered when Victoire would show up, he had expected her to be here early in attempts to help set up for the big bash, but he hadn’t seen her yet. ”We should clean up so we can get Toire, that way she doesn’t expect it,” he said to Teddy, although he was certain he wouldn’t get it all off without some magic, luckily he had turned seventeen back in May.

Post by NORA ROSE SINCLAIR on Aug 8, 2011 11:48:07 GMT -5
With slow steps, Nora took her time walking up the pathway to the Potter home, taking in the how beautiful it looked in the evenings. Her parents had driven her to their street, dropping her off with lots of hugs and kisses, telling her that she needed to call them later. During her summers her parents forced her to carry around her cell phone, of course it was useless at Hogwarts, which stressed them out a bit. With tons of reassurance she finally was able to exit the car and head up to the house. After the party, she would be spending the night at her best friend Arabella’s house, so that her parents wouldn’t have to come and get her. Most of the kids here could floo home or find their own way, but Nora was muggleborn and her house wasn’t connected to the floo network, so instead of making her parents pick her up late she would be heading home with her friend.
Approaching the front door, she smiled at the little house elf, she always found them so adorable, although she hadn’t seen many in her few years in the wizarding world. As the house elf directed her toward the living room, she felt her nerves set in. Nora was very quiet, meaning she wouldn’t know very many people here. The only reason she had agreed to come was to see her three friends, whom she missed all summer, even if she did get to spend some time with them. Visiting Bella occasionally through out her summer was not the same as seeing her everyday at Hogwarts, it was hard to not see her as often, she felt she had no one that she could really talk to with out Arabella.
Nora smoothed out her dress, looking down to make sure her appearance was decent, she had no idea if anyone she really knew was here yet and it was causing her nerves to run wild. She hadn't been sure what to wear, so she had chosen a simple summer dress, she actually loved wearing casual dresses through out the summer, they made her feel girly. With a deep breath, she stepped into the living room, hearing voices but unsure of if she recognized any. Her eyes immediately took in Lysander, a sigh of relief escaping her lips as she naturally moved to his side. ”Hello,” she said softly to the others in the room, taking in the amount of frosting on two of the boy’s faces with curiosity. Deciding not to ask, she turned and gave Lysander a smile, not sure what to say to anyone, she never knew what to say around people, but he knew that and he would help her to feel more comfortable.

James finished his cupcake and put the case on the side. He watched as Nora came into the house. He smiled at himself a little bit, pleased that there was going to be at least one nice looking girl that was not his family. He looked at her enter. He then looked around the room again, He caught the eye of Teddy and smiled. " Looking forward to the new quidditch years Teddy?" He said with a smile.
He tried to catch the eye of Nora, once there eyes met he winked cheekly at her and took a sip of his pumkin juice. He wasn't sure if he even liked the girl, he could just not help but flirt with any female. Even female professors, without noticing he is doing it. he sipped his pumkin juice casting his eyes over the group of people. He had hoped there would be some butter beer or some whisky. That was unlikely, His Mother wouldn't tell James if there was anyway. He liked his alcohol a little too much and becomes more of a trouble maker than before. He looked over to the kitchen and couldn't see any. He pulled the curtain from the window and looked behind and still couldnt see any. He sighed and took a drink of his pumpkin juice.

blonde curls flowed down the soft shoulders of victoire renee weasley as she stared out of a window on the second floor of the potter home. she had finished locking of the few rooms in accordance with her aunt's bequest and now stood in the hallway, gazing at the moon from behind glass. the lights that had been hung outside twinkled in the darkness, lighting the way for the potter-weasley family guests. it was typical of them to invite their many friends to an end-of-summer bash, to celebrate the new year to come, in hopes that it would be good, and none of them would be harmed.
that was victoire's greatest fear - that one of her family members, or even friends, would be hurt. something big was going to happen soon, and she didn't know if she was prepared for it. she would never admit that she was scared to those around her, but in her heart she is terrified. still, victoire is a strong person, especially on the outside. she will always find a way to cope with things that happened to her, including losing those that she loves most. she tries to not let things effect her in the way they would others, but at the end of the day, she's a sixteen year old girl just like others her age and feels pain, too.
she wasn't going to think about those things that night. 'toire already vowed that to herself. she promised she would have a good time and enjoy the company of her friends and family. if bad things were to fall upon them, then at least she'd have this final day to reminisce their memories. but scratch that. nothing was going to happen. vic would try as hard as she could to make sure nothing happened to her loved ones. but that night, nothing would happen. it couldn't, for she would be unguarded.
vic slipped downstairs into the midst of loud conversations and laughs. a smile graced her pale features as she entered the room. her jeans fit perfectly around her curves, with worn-out peices hanging from the denim. she sported a blue top to match, with white sneakers and white earrings dangling from behind her curls. as she touched the last step, she overheard jayson abercrombie, one of her best friends. she shook her head as she entered the room, sticking her tongue out at him. "bit too late there jay, but thanks for thinking of me in your scheme,"
[/color] she said, winking at him. she hugged him quickly, then smiled at the others. with her friends and family there, she was sure she could keep her mind off of other things that were, for lack of a better word, distracting. [ p.s. nothing like the new girl trying to revive the thread XD hope it's still going on >.< ][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote]

there were a lot of gryffindors in the room currently, and lysander felt a little out of place. after all, these people all knew each other a lot better than they knew him, because they spent a heck of a lot more time together. they had meals together, and slept in the same dorms. it was hard to have a good bond with someone from another house, because they were split by house so often. so he stood a little ways off, watching the action. jay and teddy were both completely covered in cupcake now. roxanne had definitely gotten a good prank done this time.
lysander glanced at james, the first person to welcome him to the party. it was at the potters house, so james was probably talking to everyone, being a good host. but it was nice to be acknowledged. "i'm stealthy." he replied, laughing a bit when he caught sight of jason slowly morphing his appearance to match his. "nice jason. you've got the hair colour perfect." he gave the gryffindor a thumbs up, then turned towards the door. he had heard the house elf greet someone else. he was hoping it was someone he knew.
when nora walked in, lysander nearly bounced in his excitement. finally, another non-gryffindor. plus, nora was one of his best friends. if she came, maybe that meant arabella and colin were on their way too. then the party could really get started. "Nora! Hi!" he said, giving her a grin. maybe she would break out of her shell a little at the party. that would be nice. nora needed to talk some more. she couldn't be shy forever. [/blockquote]
