Silas walked into the common room from the boys dorm. There was some boys getting on his nerves. He sat on the large green leather sofa. He looked around and noticed the common room was empty. He smiled to himself, he might at least get ten miniutes to himself without Scorpius Malfoy and his twats annoying him. He picked up his History of Magic book and began to slowly read. History of Magic was one of his best subjects, he enjoyed finding out about history and learning what happend in the past.
While he got to the end of the first paragraph he heard some foot steps behind him. He closed his eyes and prayed it wasn't Scorpius or his friends. He was not in the mood for any of them today. He just wanted to enjoy his book alone.

christian had had a VERY long day. it had begun on a rotten note, with a loud owl screech waking him up at the ungodly hour of five in the morning. and it had only gotten worse when he screwed up in potions class, blowing up the potion he and his partner had been creating. it had taken hours to get the ash out of his curly hair. then, he had history of magic class, which was two hours of boring. he skipped charms in the afternoon for a break, got caught by a professor, and spent a good hour in the headmasters office. now, with that finally over, he headed up to the slytherin common room. he really needed to get some studying done for potions, he was being allowed a redo on the potion tomorrow.
chris entered the common room and looked around with a sigh. it was fairly packed, most of the seats taken. the only spot remaining was on a leather green sofa, next to a familiar boy. silas storm. christian didn't know too much about the other boy, except for the fact that scorpius and the others tended to pick on him a lot for being gay. which meant that silas probably hated his guts simply because he was friends with them. there was close to no chance of the other slytherin allowing him to sit there. but he was desperate, he needed to get this homework done. he couldn't focus in the library, and if he went in his dorm, he would definitely fall asleep. the noise in the common room would keep him awake and studying.
he walked over, and ran his fingers through the curls in his hair. a bit of ash came tumbling out and he cursed. his hair was such a bitch to clean. "uh...mind if i sit here?" he asked awkwardly, making sure the other guy could see that he meant no harm. [/blockquote]

Silas looked up from his book and his heart began to thump hard and loudly. He looked at the boy and instantly knew is was a goyle. It was Christian, he had not spoke to him much but knew what the rest of them were like. He took a deep breath and spoke gentl"y.. y..y..yes" he stuttered out loud. After noticing his stutter he looked quickly at his book not even reading it.
He looked up from his book jumping everytime the boy looked at him. His palms were sweating. The boo shook in his hands and his left was shaking like a leaf. It was obvious he was scared. He put the book up to cover his face and done some deep slow breathing.

chris was trying to think of alternatives, in case silas refused to let him sit there because of his experiences with his friends. he wouldn't blame the other slytherin for saying no, some pretty harsh words had been exchanged towards him, and chris hadn't done anything to stop it, even if he didn't join in. he could go find a random corridor that wasn't too quiet, but that put him on the floor, and he was already stiff from the crappy chairs in the headmasters office.
he was very surprised when the slytherin agreed, although he winced at the stutter in his voice. he was scared of him. for a good reason too, because if one of his friends entered, christian would be forced to push silas around and bully him, to make it look like that was who he was. chris hated being mean to people, but he needed his friends to accept him. they were the only ones he had. "thank you." he said, trying to show silas that there was nothing to be scared of. when he sat down, he realized the other boy was shaking like a leaf. he felt so bad.

Silas gave the boy a nervous smile and looked back down to his book. He lifted his bag up and took out his diary. Its where he kept a log of his life and thoughts. He started to write, looking up at Christian every few minutes. He kept writting hand still slighty shaking a little. He looked over to see what the boy was doing.
Silas kept going to open his mouth to start a conversation, but he couldnt bring himself to do it. He took a deep breath, then suddenly out of no where " S..s..so wheres you're friends and family today" He looked at himself a little shocked for being able to talk to the boy. The other boys he cant look at never mind talk to. He looked away and continued writting incase the boy never heard him.

chris opened his book to the potion he was supposed to learn how to make. he was sure he hadn't done anything wrong in class, which meant that he had obviously memorized something wrong. what had he screwed up on? he had added the correct amount of the ingredients, and stirred the correct way. maybe his partner had done something wrong? but that wasn't possible, he had been paired with a hufflepuff who was so ridiculously bad at potions, that chris didn't even allow him to touch the mixture. had the hufflepuff put something in, thinking he was helping? the slytherin squinted as he read the page, searching for his mistake. what had he done wrong?
chris looked up in surprise when he heard silas speak to him. the other slytherin had already gone back to his writing, and for a second, chris thought he had imagined the other boy speak. why did he ask about his friends, when he didn't like them? did he think this was a set up? that they had sent him here to be nice to him, and then they would come in and destroy him when he felt at peace? because that wasn't it at all. chris just needed a place to sit. "i'm not sure. haven't seen any of them yet." he replied, giving a slight shrug. none of his friends were in his classes, except the youngest crabbe girl who was in his charms class, the one he skipped.

Silas brushed his hand through his blond hair and continued to write in his diary. Still looking up every few minutes. He was starting to feel more comfortable, he only was nervous at the start of meeting people. He took out a zipped hooded top from his bag and put it on. He was starting to feel the cold a little down in the common room. He took a sip from his bottle of water and looked at the boy.
" So Potions, Not my best subject" he said with a small smile. He put up the hood on his zipper. He felt more comfortable wih his hood up so people didnt notice him. " Much more relaxed without that twat Scorpius and his goofy friends not about" He said with a smile. " No Offense Christian!" He said quickly noticing he may have offended the boy.

christian went back and forth from reading his potions book to keeping an eye on the boy next to him. he was confused, why did the boy act so scared of him, but then change his mind and talk to him? had he realized his fear was irrational, since chris had never actually done anything to him. when the boy commented on his potions, he realized that he wasn't the only one keeping an eye on the other while going about with his business. silas seemed to be keeping an eye on him too. "it is my best subject. or at least, it was. i didn't exactly have a smooth sailing day in that class today."
chris raised an eyebrow when silas insulted his friends. just because they weren't around didn't mean chris wouldn't get angry about it, what was the other slytherin thinking? did he often go insulting one's friends around that person? it was a rather bad thing to do, he would have gotten a nasty curse if it had been one of the other fallen eyes he was talking to. after all, that twat was one of his best friends, and one of the goofy friends was his sister. he didn't exactly like the fact that he insulted him like that. but he nodded when the other boy said no offense. he did have his reasons, and they were good ones. "no offense taken. just be careful with your words."

"s.s.sorry" He said in a small voice. He realised even though he might not like the guys they were Chris's friends. He put his diary back in his bag and sat back on the seat. He looked around the room observing the people who were walking past and sitting down near him. " What Happend to you in p.p.potions today?" he said trying to control is stutter.
He was not in any of his classes as he was in the year above. He also thought Chris was quite good looking, nothing amazing but he was okay. Silas took down his hood and messed up his hair with his hands. He took out his wand from his pocket and placed it in his bag. He looked up at Chris and awaited him talking.

christian winced when the stutter in silas' voice returned. he hadn't meant to scare him when he told him to watch his words, he just didn't want to hear him badmouthing scorpius and the others anymore. he nodded, showing the other slytherin that his apology was accepted. was there really anything scary about him, besides his last name? chris didn't think so, he was a fairly normal person. and he hadn't put any extra menace into his voice when he had been speaking. so why was silas so afraid?
chris was surprised that the accident in the fifth year potions class hadn't gotten around the school by now. it had been a pretty nasty explosion, both he and his partner had been covered head to toe with soot, as were most of the people sitting around them. "there was a bit of an explosion." he replied, thinking of how their potion had gone from the perfect light shade of blue to a nasty green before it ignited. there had been a cloud of nasty smelling smoke in the room after that, it had been so bad that the class evacuated due to stench. Silas laughed a little then stopped when he realised he was laughing out loud. He smiled, He wasn't quite so bad at potions he just didnt like it." I dont mind potions that much, just dont like the professor" He said looking down to his bag wondering if he had his potions book with him. Then he remembered putting it in on his bed earlier.
He looked Chris up and down as if he was checking him out and tried to make it obvious and looked away quickly before he noticed. " Do you like Care for Magical Creatures?" Silas could easily have a conversation about his best subject. He loved it and loving the creatures. He then stopped for a seccond and remembered there was something he was meant to do, " Oh feed Melos!" He said and then realised he said it out loud. I presumend Christian would know he meant his owl.

christian was glad he amused the boy with his misfortune in his favourite class. he glanced down at his textbook one more time, checking to see if he could find his mistake. when, once again, he saw nothing, he slammed it closed. his partner must have done something. or someone did, anyway. they dropped something in their potion, making it explode. he wouldn't put it past one of the gryffindors to do that. and they had plenty of reason for it, after all, we was part of the fallen eyes. gryffindors didn't tend to like them. "i like potions. i don't even know what went wrong." he replied.
chris was completely oblivious to the fact that silas was glancing up and down at him, too wrapped up in his own thoughts. from the was silas asked, he seemed to like the class. "i don't mind it. it isn't my favourite class, but some of the creatures are pretty cool." he enjoyed that class half of the time, when they were studying awesome creatures. but when they had read about goblins or house elves, he got bored. chris raised an eyebrow at the next comment, assuming that melos was his pet, whatever pet he brought to hogwarts. "an animal?" [/blockquote]

Silas listened to him talk. He had quite a gentle voice to listen to. He took a deep breath and smiled at him, " Aw i love it! Creatures, Theory everything about it i just love it!" He said with a big smile. The Creatures were the one thing at the school that wouldn't bully him or be nasty. Silas presumend Christian was into girls but it wasn't that obvious. All the boys were as far as he knew anyway.
" Oh Yeah he's my black owl" Melos was got for him by his father. His father was well known for being rich and Silas usualy got exactly what he wanted. He spent his first few years being known as the rich spoilt boy in Slytherin. That soon changed as he got older. His parents barely even spoke to him. Silas chose to only return home at summer, once a year, that was it. Even then he spent all day out the house and only slept there a night

silas was very enthusiastic about care of magical creatures. it was interesting, how different people enjoyed different things. christian had only picked the course because he wanted to avoid the more difficult ones, and he couldn't take another year in divination and being told he was going to die. so he had taken care of magical creatures to fill his final space, even though his father hadn't been too thrilled. that wasn't the class that chris was hiding from his parents. that was muggle studies. no one but the people in his class and the professor knew he took it, and they kept quiet because they wanted to keep their faces the way they were.
"it depends on the creature for me." he replied. chris loved hearing about interesting ones, such as dragons or threstals. they were cool to study, unlike the ones who really didn't do too much. he really didn't care about house elves, they were pretty much ugly little people who liked to do household chores. "that's cool. i have a tawny one of my own. named arthur, i have no idea why though. he had already been named when i got him." [/blockquote]

Silas smiled. He was at last getting to talk about something he had a strong interest for. " Oh no i love everything about it, Never missed a class for six years in that subject, Divinations on the other hand". He said with a slight chuckle. He hated Divinations and himself seen no point in the subject.
" Aw thats a cute name, Have you had him since you started school?" Silas felt himself begin to relax a bit with Christian. He didn't know why but he felt able to talk to him. If it was Scorpius he would completely ignore him and leave the room straight away. Silas kept looking over his shoulder to see if certain people would appear.
