There was something about being back at Hogwarts that was a comfort for Cora. At home, during the summer holidays, Cora lacked...a schedule really. She had all this free time, and she felt plans were necessary. Cora could not not have a plan for anything. She usually ended up writing out a plan for her entire summer, and filled it with various things to fill in her empty days. When family vacations came around, Cora was a freak about planning all their time. She planned more than her parents planned their vacations. No one really liked her strict planning, or her need to stick to her plans. Cora couldn't deviate from her plans. Once a plan was formulated in her head, she stuck to it.
At Hogwarts there was structure, a schedule. Cora could sit down with her blank calendar book and fill in the days, each with their own plan. She woke up at the same time every day, followed a morning routine before breakfast, and throughout the rest of the day. Everything she did went according to her plan. When things wouldn't go the way she planned, for example extra school assignments, Cora would adjust her plans to fit accordingly. This plan system didn't really work out with real life situations. Cora didn't plan for her best friend to betray her trust and go off and snog that boy. Cora did not even plan on developing a crush over that boy. This year was going to be different. Cora was going to stick to all her plans and never stray from them.
Following her plan for the day, Cora finished everything at the time she planned to finish it. With all her school work for the next day completely, Cora (having written in her book) took the book she was currently reading, (she also had an order in which to read such books)and a blanket, she headed up to the astronomy tower. Why there? The astronomy tower at this late evening hour would be deserted. It was a perfectly peaceful spot for Cora to just sit and read. She could really get into the story, laugh at the funny parts, and cry with the sad parts without getting looked at funny by her house mates in the common room. Sometimes, Cora just liked to watch the sunset finish setting and watching the moon rise. There was something peaceful about this natural cycle. It was calming, one could easily lose their worries to the wind. When the stars came out, Cora could lay there for hours just laying there, looking up at them.
Once out in the open area of the tower, Cora sat herself down on the floor, leaning her back against the wall. She covered her lap with the blanket, and opened up the old up to the pages her bookmark was stuck between. Looking down, Cora started reading where she left off. For a while, she forgot that she as sitting atop the astronomy tower in Hogwarts. Instead, Cora was sitting in a chair, in a dark corner in of the rooms belonging to Mr. Sherlock Holmes. She sat, watching him thing along side Mr. Watson. She could almost smell the smoke coming from their pipes. Cora continued to get lost in the story until it came to the point where she could see the words printed on the paper. She looked up to see a crescent moon hanging, and stars dotted across the sky. Cora sighed, drawing up her knees to her chin, slowly just drifting off into thought.
