Landon Drew Taylor was never a good one with memory. He couldn't remember things like where he put his quill or what he had for breakfast yesterday. Yes, he was rather forgetful, especially when it came to his past. Whenever he tried to remember his life in America, it was always like static on a radio station--fuzzy, with a few faint bits heard clearly.
For example, Landon recalled things like swimming in a freezing lake with his dad, but not much of his father's face. He imagined his dad looked quite similar to himself, but he knew his dad left when he was very young. Six? Anyways, he was quite sure of his mother--pale skin and dark curly hair. She'd been taking care of him since his very
birth on June 26, 2009. She, unlike most other American single moms, was a witch. She used her wand for many household chores, and her flying car to help them move from Los Angeles to Chicago when he was eight. Magic fascinated Landon; it showed his mom was special. Indeed,
he proved to be a very special boy.
In the fifth grade, when Landon was ten, he made a bully's pants fall down when he was being mean to his friend. All it took was a thought. The playground went wild; it made everyone laugh, and Landon was proud of himself (even if he got a series of time outs for his antics). He
was quite the prankster, especially for his enemies. He didn't care much for Muggle academics. He had this 'Hakuna Matata' attitude, relaxing and getting by in school. He didn't even need to try, and he did pretty well.
When Landon turned eleven, he received a letter from the American branch of Hogwarts. He was so excited to go to academy with kids as special as he was! He could use magic all he wanted there without getting a time out. He received his wand in Chicago's Diagon Alley, which was nine inches, redwood, dragon heartstring. When he was Sorted, the Hat put him immediately in Gryffindor. The Hat could
detect his loyalty to his friends and bravery to protect them at all costs. However, at fifteen, the American Academy of Magic closed down due to the economic lows. The conversion rate of galleons to dollars had reached a new low, and his mother had to send him to Hogwarts in England. He couldn't recall what happened to his other wizard and witch friends, but he just knew he was to be sent in Hogwarts to learn
and become a great wizard. He missed his mum in America very much, but he couldn't visit her due to the high cost of air fare. Oh well. He would try to write, he thought.
Landon was a great student in Hogwarts. The topics especially interested him, and he excelled in Transfiguration. In fact, it was sort of peculiar--sometimes he could talk to dogs. Other times, he could sprout a tail or get stuck halfway between man and dog. He thought it very peculiar, and even more so when he became a full on
dog! He knew Animagi had to be registered, so he kept it to himself as his own secret.
Landon enjoyed playing jokes on people he didn't like, which obviously got him into trouble. He was a talented Wizard, studying well for finals. He was reckless, disregarding the rules and sneaking around the school at night for kicks. He was fiercely dedicated and
loyal to his friends, rather dying than betraying them. Unfortunately, Landon was impulsive much of the time, speaking his mind and being blunt about his feelings. He would also get angry easily if someone tipped him or his friends off. Otherwise, he left a kind first impression unless he disregarded his better judgment and spoke exactly what he thought.
P.S. - He's a reincarnation of Sirius Black. (:
