lily evans. best of her year. hogwarts head girl. beautiful. sharp. kind. fiery.

one could go on describing lily evans. tell you the story of how she was born to a muggle family, the only witch in the family. they could explain what it was like for the girl to grow up with a sister who called her a freak, and a best friend who was the only one that knew what she was. maybe they would throw in the time she recieved a letter to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, or the fact that she was sorted into gryffindor. but the story that every single person would tell you when you ask about lily evans, is a story of true love and sacrifice. the story of how a muggleborn witch sacrificed her life for her son. it's a well known one, written about in several books.

and that story is the reason lily (evans) potter was chosen of many to be reincarnated by the paper angels. in fact, she was one of the first. reincarnated along with her husband, and his best friends. lily evans, james potter, remus lupin and sirius black had returned to the world.

the story the paper angels chose for lily was simple. she was Iris Evangeline Bones, a member of the bones family. the bones had been thought to be wiped out after the wizarding war, but there had been one remaining, a squib. the wizard world had not been aware of this woman, and she had grown up with muggle parents who adopted her as their own. then, the woman grew up, married a muggle, and had a daughter. named iris. meaning wisdom, and hope.

the family moved to france, and iris attended beauxbatons up until half way through her fourth year. at that time, her family died in tragic car accident, leaving her an orphan. iris was devastated by the loss off her family, and moved in with a friendly half blood family, who sent her to hogwarts. she began her fifth year there, after being sorted into ravenclaw.

or, at least, that's what the paper angels told her. iris has no idea that the above story was completely untrue. she believes that it is her life. it is all she remembers. if one asks her to remember her first day at beauxbatons, she can't do it. or any other memory, for that matter. when she went to a healer for help, they told her she was probably blocking out her childhood because of the tragedy of losing her family. but somehow, she thinks it's more than that.

since arriving at hogwarts, nothing particularly memorable has happened to iris. besides the fact that people keep looking at her and telling her that her eyes are wrong. what's so wrong with blue eyes?
