"It is during our darkest moments that
we must focus to see the light."
Jasmine was born in a small hospital somewhere in the muggle world in England to Eric and Adelaide Parker. Her mother being German and her father being British, she had quite the background. Her only living Grandparent, Joanna Hurst, lived in Hogsmeade in a tiny three bedroom cottage. Although one bedroom was more like a large closet. This happened to be where Jasmine stayed. Her Oma urged them to move in as soon as Jasmine was born. No way would her granddaughter live amongst muggles! It was bad enough her daughter did. They eagerly accepted Joanna's invitation. She doted on her only grandchild, turning the bitter old broad into a nurturing granny.
None of them were surprised when Jasmine got her letter to Hogwarts, it had been pretty much been guaranteed from the start. Jasmine was somewhat shy and reserved while she lived in Hogsmeade with her Oma and parents, but at Hogwarts she transformed into a beautiful young woman, who was ready to start a new chapter in her life. She became outgoing and sociable, especially when she was accepted into Hufflepuff. Jasmine always wondered why she had been accepted into Hufflepuff. But she did have a talent for finding things, and she fit all the personality traits that were associated with hufflepuff; she loved meeting new people, Jasmine was usually the first person to hand in homework, and she hated people that judged others. Along with her other accomplishments, she also became a top student, but she had her fair share of ups and downs. While in her third year, her Grandmother passed away. It definitely took a toll on young Jasmine. She began to seclude herself from her friends and her schoolwork took a turn for the worse. But then her mom told her Oma had left her a trunk full of things, well, two trunks actually.
While on a break from school, Jasmine finally got up the courage to go into her oma's room and open the trunks. They keys were old and tarnished, and the trunks were older than she was. One was a trunk full of old clothes, dresses, little trinkets, and an old blanket her oma used to wrap her up in when she was sick. It smelled exactly like her. Jasmine found the other trunk to be significantly smalled than the last trunk, but it was filled with old pictures, and other letters. But there were newer notes, written on crisp paper. It was scrawled with her Oma's scribbly handwriting, and it was written in all German.
It was telling her lots of things her Oma didn't get the chance to tell her, like bits of wisdom, jokes, poems, and it also contained books and everything. Jasmine just sat in her room and cried and cried. Her mom came in and hugged her. Oma had written these things long before she had died, when Jazz was just a toddler. Joanna had known that there was no way she could tell her granddaughter everything, so she began writing. There were hundreds, if not thousands of things written on the pages, and Jasmine couldn't wait to read them all.
She went to school with a new attitude and got her coursework back on track and her friends understood and acted like she had never been away. But when she was older, in her fifth year, she met a boy. He was handsome, and dashing and everything that she wanted. Jasmine thought she was in love, and she thought that the boy was too. Of course he was different from all the other guys, he was sincere, and loving and caring. Then one day, everything changed. Jasmine caught him flirting and holding hands with another girl! Kissing her even. It was disgusting. Jasmine had been used, she had given everything to him. There were parts of her that she would never get back.
So she told herself she would never fall in love again. All men were horrible beings. Nothing good ever came from them. Jasmine saw the way they acted together, then by themselves. They were two different people. They looked at girls as if they were a piece of meat. It wasn't worth it. They were much better as just friends anyway. Oma hadn't needed a husband after her's had died, of course they loved each other, but Oma had been independent. Her parents loved each other, but that was like a one in a thousand case!---
Jasmine has a sparkling personality and is very much her own person, and has the general Hufflepuff values of hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play. She is also very friendly without being obnoxious and tries her very hardest not be to judgmental, although sometimes she can't help it. Especially when it comes to Slytherins and the like. She loves to surround herself with close friends and acquaintances, she can be rather independent at times, but this comes from her being an only child. She does not like to be alone all of the times, but Jasmine does enjoy time to herself to think about things.
She is a very happy girl, and has a rather positive outlook on life. But if she is sad, she keeps things inside rather than burdening her friends with it, she prefers to handle her own problems rather than getting others involved. Jasmine has seen that happen to others more than once, and it never turns out very well. She doesn't believe in self-pity or holding grudges.
One things she is firm about is love. Jasmine strongly dislike the idea of a perfect man, or a perfect relationship, hence her loathing of cheesy muggle romance novels. If she finds love, so be it, but Jasmine isn't about to go looking for love. Especially when it might not exist, her parents being one of the only exceptions to this. And what if she doesn't even find her "other half?" Jasmine thinks it is all a waste of time.
She loves to speak German, and sometimes calls her parents mutti and vati, from hearing her mother speak German. She finds the language lovely and enjoys speaking to her mother in her native tongue, since Jasmine knows how much her mutti loves it. Her father just stares at them only picking up a few words. But she always called her Grandma Oma.
